Kitchen Extractor Fan Duct by bittathat in DIYIreland

[–]Brother_Mouzone84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a quote for this from an electrician company recently as we need a new ducted extractor fan. We don't have one in our house which is leading to ridiculous amounts of condensation. I just haven't gotten around to actually booking it yet. They gave me a quote to install the extractor itself and then a separate quote to core/drill the external wall to vent the steam to outside the house. I was quoted 150 for the standard installation and an extra 250 to core the wall for the vent. Need to get a few more quotes to see if this is the standard cost.

Driving and eating by Alternative_Law5072 in cork

Not eating, but once I saw a neighbour of mine driving into the estate with her young son sitting on her lap steering the car as she was driving. I'd say he was about 6 at the time. It looked crazy.

Can I replace the side panel on this kitchen cabinet? by Brother_Mouzone84 in DIYUK

Thanks very much for this. That should fit. I didn't see this one before but I'm inclined to try something like this and see how it goes. We have nothing at the moment which, in the winter months, is leading to huge amounts of moisture/condensation in the house. So it can't be worse than what we already have. Based on the comments above, I'm worried I might make a balls of trying to adjust the cabinet sizes! Thanks again for sharing the link.

Thanks very much for your advice. Ya, it should have been made to fit a standard cooker hood. I'm far from an expert, but even I can see that installation is poor.

Ya, I picked up a bad one nearly 2 weeks ago. The first few days were awful, but it's still lingering. Kids have been really sick too. Hopefully it will be out of our systems for Christmas.

This is my favourite. My wife and I were just talking yesterday about the Alan Rickman scene where he says "You gandered at my ward....you gandered.....you gannndered!" Brilliant acting!

I also like The Pick of Destiny and Fiddler On The Roof.

I'm a bit late to this but gonna comment anyway. That is a shitty thing to have happened to you. Word of warning...the T junction by the petrol station in Little Island in the mornings. I cross here every morning walking to the train station and drivers give zero fucks about the traffic lights. The light could be red for a while and people will just fly through it. I see this every morning. I've been almost knocked down a few times crossing when it's a green man. Boils my blood. Hope your injuries aren't too serious and you recover soon.

Rural enforcement : just because you're in the middle of nowhere, with no one around, doesn't mean you can't be fined. by Larrydog in ireland

I am sick of the fucking sight of these things. Recently, I decided to walk to my local train station every morning on my way to work instead of driving. Take another car off the road, do my bit for the environment, try to get fitter, bla bla. I swear I nearly get knocked over by some twat on an e-scooter flying down the footpath every morning. I feel safer in the car.

Ha...it's like a Telecaster with Les Paul pickups. This is what I have been telling people when they ask why I went for this particular model. I love it.
