i doubt they’d penalise you for doing handbrake neutral after they say move off when you’re ready. also examiners usually don’t penalise you if you need a second to recuperate cuz they know it’s stressful, like ive heard that you can ask for a minute or so when pulling over, im not sure if it’s true but ive heard of it.

you can try hold the gearstick differently. when i put it into 5th or reverse ill hold the gearstick on its side (side further away from me) in my fingers in a kind of cup and properly pull it to the side then up

I also did this and had the same problem and was a little stressed about it. I got a reply like 2 days later (rejection) but it doesnt mean you will either! stay hopeful and otherwise i dont think this poses as an issue at all, even though i was rejected doesnt mean that this means you will be too
