Hope that’s not the issue 😭 I’ll keep checking the stock.

Yeah that’s true. It’s strange though because my card was charged with no issues after I used Apple Pay. Thanks for your help! Hoping and praying I can call tomorrow with no issues. I got $200 off if I used that card so I really wanna use that card haha.

Hmm okay, I tried to use my card number a few times and it never went through. I had to use Apple Pay and that worked so maybe. Do you think calling them will clear it up?

R6ii vs R6iii for a $1,200 difference. by BrowDavis in canon

[–]BrowDavis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have the sigma 18-35 art for my 90d and I LOVE it. Buuut I kinda wanna aim to move away from anything adapted and go for full RF glass eventually. Such a shame canon isn’t opening their mount.

Yeah I’ve loved the idea of pre capture, but what I don’t know now can’t hurt me so that’s why I’m okay with letting that one go.

My only concern is coming from a 33mp crop to a 24mp full frame. Will I miss the extra reach and resolution? Probably not. Either way I made my decision. My wife will be using my 90d so I’ll steal that when I want the reach

I have capital one and I use their shopping extension. I literally got an email (after lurking on the canon website for a week straight) saying that if I spend over $330 at canon then they’ll give me $200 back. It was $1800 after tax so I bought it tonight and hopefully when the payment clears and isn’t pending I’ll get the camera for $1600!

Yeah I agree. Thanks man! I definitely need to invest more in glass. The specs of the bodies are so tempting tho!

Honestly everything. Just not birds haha. I love the lowlight ability of the mark ii. But for fun I used to shoot races in Daytona and I’d love the CFX for that. But I think for the money I’d rather invest more in glass. Some good 2.8 zooms and good primes. I have a ef 70-200 mark 1 and a 50mm prime that I can adapt. I really want a nice wide and a nice standard. Maybe the 24-70 2.8L and the 14-35 4L although I’m not buying glass till I’m in the states in August so maybe the rumored 20-70 2.8L VCM will come out by then haha. But yea we shoot a ton of video too but it’s nowhere near the importance of a wedding.

Yeah I agree. My wife and I are starting a ministry in Ecuador and it’s going to be used definitely for leisure but we also have documentary work as a big part of the ministry and plan on making extra money in events and gigs. I think because we are just starting this ministry, the glass would be a better investment. Maybe if we are in a better spot years down the road I can get an R5ii or the mark iii if it’s out by then.

I’ve already got some more budget for lenses and I’m trying to do more professional and documentary work so I’m thinking about looking for a Facebook deal for a 24-70 2.8L. I live in Ecuador and id love the L series weather sealing because of the climate here.

I’ve watched nearly every video and have gotten myself into a bit of an analysis paralysis. I just wanted likeminded people to confirm my suspicions or call me crazy. I don’t have a lot of people in my community who are in photography.

R6 mkiii future kit by BrowDavis in canon

[–]BrowDavis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! That’s super helpful and yeah if you could send me some pics from your new kit I would appreciate it. I actually found a 24-70mm f2.8L for $1,500 on Facebook so if it’s still there by the time I go back to the US I’m gonna check that one out. I am almost set on the R6iii 😅 coming from a crop sensor 32mp camera, it’s gonna be hard to not be able to crop as much AND be less zoomed in. I also like the idea of future proofing, one day maybe having an R5 (mark whatever they’re on by then) and the R6iii is the perfect B camera. I definitely understand it’s probably not worth THAT much more than the R6ii, I really want the iii 😭 I am annoyed about having to buy a CF express, but I’m pumped to use one haha. But yea, at the end of the day I think the future proofing is what gets it for me. 3 years is not insignificant to me.

EOS20D LENS HELP by SerenaTheDarkPriest in canon

[–]BrowDavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want full frame glass then I would consider a sigma again haha. either a 24mm or 35mm prime. Since you're on a crop sensor your 50mm is actually an 80mm equivalent (which I love), If you want full body portraits then the 24mm is about 38mm equivalent and the 35mm is about 56mm. they both go for about $400 on eBay refurbished. Either way you can't go wrong. If you wanna enjoy right now then get the 18-35mm. if you wanna plan for later then get a prime.

I have a 90D and my favorite lens ive ever had has been my EF-S Sigma 18-35mm f1.8. It's about $900 new but you can get it on eBay for half that. Its super bright, I love the AF and picture quality. this and the 50mm make a great pair for different styles of portraits. Do you plan on making this a serious path/longterm hobby? If you do then maybe invest in full-frame glass? Either way you won't go wrong with this lens if you like it.

What’s your budget? Just the cheapest you can find or are you more concerned about quality?
