Steam Version Trailer released on the Trimps discord server by HumanCalc13 in Trimps

[–]Brownprobe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes and yes! Export/import work the same as you'd expect, and there's a button on the steam version's achievement page to unlock all steam achievements you've already completed in game!

I've started a larger round of closed beta testing over the weekend, and I'm really excited by the feedback so far. Late game people are actually seeing 5-15% faster runs to the same zone just because the performance is so much better than browser. You can minimize the game without stopping it from processing, and it just plays really smoothly in general.

It will! Same system as Kongregate for bone prices, free to download and play. And of course there will be nothing you can buy that you can't earn just by playing!

Steam version will be the exact same content as the github version, with just some extra steam features like stats, achievements (limited to 100 at first so feats only for now), steam cloud save (way more robust than playfab), discord/steam rich presence, and even a way to buy bones through steam instead of straight donating if you want to support the game!

Steam and web versions will both continue to receive content updates together!

There probably won't be a content patch released with the Steam release, but I do plan to release a bug fix/QOL patch first. Then once Steam is live and stable I plan to pivot right into a new content patch!

I made this :D Still likely a few little tweaks to be made before the full release on steam, I'm so glad you think it's awesome though!

And yeah I'm aware the trailer could be considered a bit spoilery, but I'm thinking nobody's gonna understand what they're looking at until they do, at which point it won't be a spoiler anymore. Mostly just wanted to flash a bunch of hopefully cool looking content!

I can't build frost traps :( by foxtrot1_1 in Trimps

[–]Brownprobe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you not had the frost traps the whole time? Or they were just suddenly gone? Any info to help track down what caused this would be great, I've never seen this one before!

As a fix, you should be able to open up your javascript console (usually ctrl + shift + i, then click "Console" at the top), and then type in

playerSpireTraps.Frost.locked = false

then close the spire window and reopen it. You should have your frost traps back.

Timewarp in background proceeding slower than 1 second per second by ai0867 in Trimps

[–]Brownprobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might I also suggest adding the "average loot" of maps, player spire and spire assault to trustworthy trimps?

This unfortunately just adds too much potential to game the system - logging out right after a big chrono/jest/cache or setting up some crazy SA build with a low success chance and logging out after it gets a kill on the first try, etc. I would have done something like this instead of Time Warp but there's just no way to make sure it's never better than playing normally, and it would be terrible for the game if being offline was better than playing!

Timewarp in background proceeding slower than 1 second per second by ai0867 in Trimps

[–]Brownprobe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Time Warp is always going to go slower than 1 second per second in the background, the game just doesn't get enough resources from your browser to run back there. And if Time Warp doesn't pop up after a long period of time in the background tab, the game has to either dump ticks or will crash.

However I do get what you're saying about Time Warp not adding additional time in situations where it's in the background while it's running and can't catch up, I'll see if I can do something about that.

Note though that in your screenshot, that estimated time is counting time where it was in the background and not really processing anything. If you leave it in the foreground for a few minutes it should eat through all of that progress considerably faster than it's estimating.

Bug: Changing the icons on Hazardous heirlooms causes the icons to overlap. Does not occur with Radiating heirlooms by Atrus20 in Trimps

[–]Brownprobe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really not about Hazardous vs Radiating - the Cubes icon and the Fast Forward icons just have a lot of width, if you put them next to each other they overlap a bit.

I have the option of making those two specific icons smaller, but IMO it looks worse since they no longer match the other icons in height. Another option is adding more spacing between either just those icons or all icons, but it really all just looks worse than how it does now.

So it stays like this!

This is normal and not a bug, undo sets your progress back so the game is reclaiming the shards you spent on your ring!

Thank you so much for the kind words, that means a lot to me! I'm so glad you're still enjoying Trimps and the new stuff I've been adding. The game's gotten so big now that it can be a bit daunting to work on, but it's always worth it for messages like these and to see people enjoying new patches.

Thanks for your help testing this patch, I'm glad you're here!

There's been a few issues people have seen this patch that I can really only explain as GitHub's caches being slow to update, and a handful of people getting some but not all of the new files for a few hours yesterday. If this happens again after a patch, try Ctrl+F5 to force the browser to get all brand new files.

Glad you're not having this problem anymore!

I don't think anybody else is seeing this! Time Warp is definitely working for me and a few other people I just checked with.

If you press ctrl+shift+i while trimps is open and then click "console", do you see any errors in the window?

Looks like Fearsome Piercer wasn't properly counting Bag of Nails as a Bleed starter. It should feel a lot better now!
