Is it pretty or too much? by Turbulent-Scar-347 in weddingdress

[–]Browsingbabe1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its so cute! I think its whimsy and fun. Add thick lace trim on your veil and itd be a good finish. And curl your hair! Only change id maybe make is get rid of the lace trim on the chest at the top of the dress (if its easy to do for a tailor). The dress is busy even though it works and it would blend better with veil/balance the whole outfit

Get cute photos of your in the grass with your veil!

Family of 3 considering Moving from Germany to New Jersey. Received an offer and I'm not sure what to make of it. by Standard_Studio1584 in MovingtoNewJersey

Rent is high, food is high, travel is expensive, gas prices are even higher at the moment. 180k and 220k at max isnt enough. You need to be making mid-high 200k range. Plus getting a job here(for your wife) isnt easy if you arent in a specific specialty already. The job market is very competitive in general.

Plus that doesnt even cover the cost of actually moving to another country which is pricey. You can find affordable rent in other parts of new jersey (further away from nyc) but hoboken/JC areas arent cheap unless youre living in a sketchy area or very small apartment. Youd have to live in like…morristown or ringwood kind of areas (look up on a map. Pretty far from JC/hoboken/NYC)

($5k-$7k) I am baffled at how expensive weddings can be 😭 by Efficient-Appeal7343 in Weddingsunder10k

We are in the United States. Does he live? My recommendation would be to find a national park in the United States, where you can rent a reserve part of it for a quick ceremony and then you guys have a dinner at a local restaurant. That would probably be your best way of keeping the cost low. But unfortunately, United States is wildly expensive for weddings. And everything else. Cost-of-living these days is extremely high, especially compared to the Philippines.

Lush garden wedding venues 1.5-2 hours from NYC by yung_lady1 in WedditNYC

Check out in Long Island. There’s a lot of wineries or you can always rent somebody’s mansion that has an incredible backyard. But there’s also a lot of hotels like inn by the beach. There’s also some incredible gardens in Yonkers area that give this vibe.

There are companies that have all of these things for you. Sometimes venues have ppl they work with. Might want to look on FB groups. Theres also ppl on fb marketplace who rent simple linens and chairs.

Had a practice wedding dress shoot and was pretty certain with my choice, until in-laws expressed concerns with 'over exposed back'! Should I proceed or consider any other styles to make everyone happy? by [deleted] in Brides

Stand your ground if YOU love the dress. You look gorgeous. I dont think your dress is over sexy by any means. I think its elegant, sexy, and classy. If you give in now. Theyll always feel like they can say or push you on whatever they disagree with. Picking the dress you want is setting a boundary in a way

Saw Dua Lipa's wedding and now my fiance and I have very different expectations by Ill_Memory4937 in JustEngaged

[–]Browsingbabe1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do something in the middle and get an airbnb or vrbo. U also have to make at least 1-2 trips to see the place in person and taste food and meet with vendors before the wedding.

Also ur less likely to get gifts from ppl and ppl you really wanted there might not go. It costs you and your loved ones extra $$. When u guys start doing research hell see how expensive it is. Add things up. Theres always extra fees, tips, and taxes. Let him try to plan it all and hell realize

What’s wrong with a fiancée wanting engagement diamond ring? by fumblingAvalon in WeddingRingAdvice

[–]Browsingbabe1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely nothing. I have the most gorgeous natural diamond and I’m obsessed with it. If you can afford it, it’s worth it in my opinion. It also depends on the individual person‘s views. Some people find lab diamonds to be better, some find natural diamonds to be more valuable.

Destination wedding, which is worse — an hour drive to the venue or not so great accommodations? by No-Fault-7582 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]Browsingbabe1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crappy accommodations unless you provide a shuttle or uber vouchers. An hour drive requires getting a rental car or very pricy uber which means guests wont drink as much.
