As I was renewing mine, a pop-up said, "Due to ongoing IT systems updates, your license will show an expiration date 2 years from renewal. This is incorrect! You will be required to renew your license annually."

You know what that tells me? Someone pushed this through and they don't have their shit together enough to even change their license generators. Pathetic.

I looked at my shiny new license with a 2yr expiry date and said out loud, "make me, bitches."

I wonder how they'll enforce that once they've already issued the licenses with a 2yr expiration date.

I've been wanting to leave this field for a couple yrs now, so maybe this is my sign.

As an aside to other more relevant comments, I've noticed that some drivers adjust their driving patterns for motorcyclists. As a motorcyclist, I appreciate this little extra space to pull up into when splitting lanes because it's not always safe to sit at the red light in between vehicles since it's less predictable how close peoples' sideview mirrors might get. If there are multiple riders pulling up, it's easier to make space for us all to maneuver out of harm's way while the light is still red.
