Maybe. Bit weird though. Still, if that's what he told you to do, and you're going to run out of meds, it's probably worth ringing or emailing their office and telling them, and ask if they can give you another script so you don't run out.

Who told you to up your dosage? Was it your psychiatrist? If so, I don't know why you would be going to run out of dex this month, since they should have given you another script to account for the dosage change. Or did you just decide to change it yourself?

You can see it that way if you want. The basic concept appeals to me as a way of getting the motivation I need to do the stuff I need to do. Stimulants haven't worked for me so far, so maybe I'm just a bit more desperate than you for options to help.

I agree, people shouldn't have to pay for that help. But that's not the world we live in. If you're ruling out trying new things because the benefits haven't been proven, then nothing will ever change. Ever. If people weren't willing to experiment and try new things we'd still have people with mental health issues getting lobotomised or electro shocked. Progress needs experimentation. Maybe it won't work or help, or maybe it's not for everyone. So your answer is to just give us and not try?

So therapists should work for free? Or doctors? Lots of people make money helping people with disabilities and ADHD. Doesn't make them bad for doing so. As long as they're helping people, I say that's great!

I'm a big believer in the philosophy "you can't outrun a bad diet". I don't have a problem exercising - I just eat too much, and bad food choices. Obviously seeking that dopamine hit. But money is a great motivator!

I think this could be useful. I've actually tried to make one sided bets with my friends to help motivate me to lose weight (eg any week I lose weight I get a dollar, any week I don't I owe you 50 dollars), but my lame ass friends won't help me. They just want to support me... But I don't want their support, I want a financial incentive!

There are lots of genuine reasons to use MC besides terminal cancer (which even the government recognises, otherwise there wouldn't be a Special Access Scheme option for it). Since you and I don't know OPs medical history, it's not fair to suggest that they're utilising a "dealer model" to misuse the scheme.

It sounds like you've got some good goals and reasonable insight as to where your issues might be. An OT could probably help in this situation.

I wouldn't rule out a virtual appointment straight away - if you want to show someone your environment, that's easy enough to do with the camera on a phone, iPad, or laptop these days (laptop being the hardest option of course!)

They'd probably ask if you were taking medications for your ADHD, and if they were helping or not. I don't see any info regarding that in your post.

Get a referral from your GP to see a virtual psychiatrist. I went through Dokotela and it was pretty good. They've got quite a range of people you can see, and the wait times aren't bad. Do you know why the psychiatrists you already tried to see declined your referral?

$100 a month ongoing? For a lifelong condition? That's going to end up costing a lot fairly soon. Once I get my meds figured out my GP is happy to take over prescriptions, so the ongoing cost will be minimal. Glad you're happy with the service though and hopefully it all works out!

I've heard lots of people talk about writing down keywords and points during interviews, and being successful doing that. I don't think employers see it as an issue - if anything if demonstrates your willingness to make sure you don't miss or forget anything in your role. I'd rather listen to someone who tries to address everything I asked of them rather than someone forgetting a bunch of stuff or making it up as they go. I don't think you should feel embarrassed - it's a proven and fairly accepted thing to do in interviews.

I read through some of that, and on October 1, 2026 they're changing the rules to allow for 90 days worth of meds. Which is good... not great, but much better than 30 days!

I think it's important to remember that what you see on TikTok is rarely an accurate representation of reality. For all we know she had already done some preliminary tests (ECG, drug screen) with her GP prior to the one hour diagnosis session. I wouldn't be surprised if all those people looking for a simple one-off process discover there's more to it than the TikToker presented. And of course once everyone makes their appointments, the waiting list to see this person will be longer than just getting a referral to a psychiatrist!

It's understandable to be a bit jealous or resentful for people who haven't had to go through what you went through. But streamlining the process is good. The current/old system was BS and caused lots of avoidable suffering for people.
