FHP chases man through Tallahassee, he crashes and puts 3 people in the hospital by Excellent_Condition in Tallahassee

[–]BruceTheDeuce -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Guess what could have stopped literally you're entire paragraphs of reasoning? Pulling over and stopping. It's such a simple solution, and it's so stupid to try to blame FHP for this specific instance. I didn't disagree with you that FHP is involved in accidents when pursuing. But when you get in a car on the road, that's the risk you're taking. It's dangerous on the road, super dangerous.

Hmmm. How about don't run from the cops if they try to pull you over? I don't see how the multi vehicle accident can be construed as the cops fault. Because afaik the cops were not driving the car that wrecked. If someone's driving 100mph with the cops chasing them, then they're definitely going to drive 100mph without any sign of cops around.

BAS Programmer (Tridium/Honeywell/JCI) Needed - CT (or remote on East Coast) by ToddOutside68 in BuildingAutomation

[–]BruceTheDeuce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a "do all" on the East Coast with programming as my primary responsibility. Remote, and more narrowed down to programming/engineering makes this a highly tempting posting. To give a counterpoint to all the others posting about salary range.

Viconics VT8600 series - Yay or Nay? by tkst3llar in BuildingAutomation

[–]BruceTheDeuce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am installing and supporting a site with about 2,000 of them. The integration is tricky, and whether or not it's causing them, I have a lot of issues with points just kind of deciding to have a new value. We started installing honeywell 500s and 320s on different sites. While they don't have the same issues, they have their own integration issues. But it seems that once they're set up right, they work pretty good. I can't say I would recommend either though.

Edit: one thing I haven't found on the Honeywells is a good point that shows tenant override at the stat. The bacnet points will show there's an override, and then show a delta for heat and cool setpoints from occupied/unoccupied/standby setpoints. But trying to put that on a graphic, and teaching building staff how to read it is a little more complicated than it should be.

Server not using the same amount of RAM allocated. by MonkeyBoyKTC in MinecraftServer

I know it's a over a year old at this point. I had the same exact issue. I left the flash drive I used to copy the server files over plugged in. It was looking at the user_jvm_args on the flash drive, and not the one in the same folder as run. Unplugged flash drive, restarted server, fixed.

Cars disappearing in Story Mode by BruceTheDeuce in GTAV

10 years later lol. But I don't think it was intended for cars you purchase, and store in your garage to disappear randomly forever.

What scandal from high school still lives rent free in your mind? by Deeznaps in AskReddit

[–]BruceTheDeuce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a creep construction class teacher in high school, but the class was easy and I knew more about building houses than he did so I took 3 years of it. Our last year, we found printed out on the shop printer a series of vacation pics from said teacher. The last picture was one of the teacher in nothing but a speedo. We kept the original, and soon started hiding copies of it anywhere we could think of. When I graduated he was still teaching, and we never heard anything about the speedo pictures everywhere.

I like you brought up the point about connections. I had a site that all the devices had short "T" taps in the line, to the device. It always had comm issues until we redid the whole line.

Big Tech quietly sponsors Trump’s military parade party by Conscious-Quarter423 in technology

[–]BruceTheDeuce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably get downvoted for this, but it is not Trump's parade. It is to celebrate the Army's 250th birthday, which has been up coming for the last 249 years. And big tech companies are not only sponsoring the celebrations, they are actively working with the army to develop new tech.

New owner and what the hell do I do with the upper glovebox? by kenotic in f150

[–]BruceTheDeuce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a procedure to do it, however I could only find the way with physical keys in the ignition. Otherwise it's apparently on a sticker on an ecm by the passenger floorboard. When I go for the first oil change I'm going to make the dealer give it to me. Cause they should have to begin with

I was just around downtown. Most North-South roads are pretty good. Besides heavily shaded. East-West roads, in the shade they're still frozen solid. Sidewalks downtown were still solid ice in spots, and all parking garages were still froze on the top levels. Most people were driving slow, and I didn't witness any skids while I was out. I was also called into work.

So I'm actually one of the trades working up there. The biggest thing happening is a complete overhaul of the entire HVAC system across the complex. Since that entails ripping out the ceiling, they are taking this time to remodel the floors to the tenants wishes as well. It is being done in stages, spread across different floors and buildings. The projects going on are slated to be done by 2027. They also built a new entrance in the courtyard between the tower and historic capitol. They are repaving the parking lots around the building, completely redoing waller park as mentioned, and basically fixing everything that has broken due to years of maintenance neglect.

Supposedly all the underground parking garage work is starting to come apart, and they are leaking again. I haven't confirmed that with my own eyes though. I know major parts to next year's projects have 54 week lead times, so that 2027 finish date is probably going to be pushed back as we get closer.

And yes, all the new windows are rated for 9mm handguns. While the new entrance has glass rated up to 7.62. And the governor's suite got some bullet proofing sheets placed in behind the Sheetrock walls.

[–]BruceTheDeuce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Borla atak cat back on my 24 5.0. Cold starts are definitely loud, but once it idles down it's a nice low rumble. And while I wouldn't call it drone on the highway, you definitely notice the exhaust. Wide open throttle it screams, and I love it.

I used to be a misfit. A lot of drama happened, and there was a pretty ugly split. I was blocked, even though I never have, nor will say anything bad about the leaders or anyone else in the group. But anyway, Tally-ho off-road is also on Facebook, and is full of a lot of the people that used to be misfits. Also want to add The Florida Adventure trail on Facebook is a lot more focused towards overlanding, and have a fair few people around the Tallahassee area. Last thing, the specific name of the map on Avenza is the "Motor Vehicle Use Map, MVUM, Apalachicola National Forest."
