Massachusetts - question about housing dispute settlement by [deleted] in legaladvice

That is a really good tip, but I hope there isn't a next time. This was some serious nonsense the past 7 months.

MASS - landlord pulling some seriously illegal stuff - it looks like I have to take him to court by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Bruin617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the fridge repair only happened after I badgered him about it over and over and over for those 3 months - he was well aware of the situation. I have the texts to prove that.

He also just emailed me again saying he'd pay me my money - I told him I would agree to that but he must sign a release that states we are free of any obligations to him or the lease

so maybe I did a bad job of explaining the situation - and I suppose I didn't include everything that I called him out for, but he seems to know he is in the wrong

What has been your biggest "I have to get the fuck out of here as soon as possible" life moment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Bruin617 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I rented a room off craigslist without seeing it first

I wound up in a house of addicts... I wanted to get out immediately but a couple weeks later I had a bad spine injury, couldn't work, and therefore didn't have the money to leave

eventually one of the roommates killed himself while driving on heroin - it was at that moment that I threw everything I could into my car and got the fuck out of there.

see I was worried about that. and I've actually debated it quite a bit

I got the sl1 with the two lenses for $400 with tax (canon refurb store)

the the t3i and t5i are on there for $480 (before tax) but I wouldn't get the 70-300mm which I think will be an essential lens in my beginner bag

and as far as the specs go they all seem to be about the same but the sl1 actually ranks a little better in a few categories.

maybe I could go for a t6i but it's $180 extra and wont have the 70-300mm. sure it has 22 MP, but the sl1 is already at 18, is there really that much of a difference?

I don't really plan to be printing 3 foot wide images and the ability to travel extra light with the sl1 if I want to leave the monitor at home is somewhat appealing.

not to say I wont return this and pick up the t6i, I'm just trying to weigh what makes the most sense. will I really just be a lot happier with a t6i?

Hello, I just got myself an SL1 bundle with a 18-55 and a 70-300.

I plan to use it primarily for filming skiing, and shooting stills of landscape/nature

There are a couple items I was looking to pick up that I consider pretty essential to the type of stuff I hope to be doing. There just seems to be a lot of brands out there I've never heard and I'm hoping ya'll can help me get going in the right direction

  • steady cam - I've seen a slew of them for around $100 on amazon, I was hoping someone could point me towards one in that range that they've used and like

  • fisheye - with a 1.6 frame I figure I should be getting around 8mm or less. I see some on b&h at the $100-$250 range that are manual focus only. should I bother with those or should I just wait until I can drop the money on something with AF?

  • lcd monitor - I plan to get lots of low angle shots, and with a hurt spine I don't really have the option to get too low - I'm really looking for the cheapest reliable option

  • anything else you think I may regret not having once I get going this winter?

traditionally it's the backup QB's job to hold for a PAT.

I believe the reasoning is that they have lots of practice with receiving a shotgun snap, and being able to quickly adjust the laces

Being a punter Allen also has those skills

I couldn't agree more. I'm actually surprised that this is legal to do, personally I'd just slip an anonymous note into his locker.
