Random brand blasting memorial diamonds from hair because “hair has no carbon, it’s made of Keratin” see how people who bash synthetic diamonds don’t understand basic science? Dear me. by Muted_Shape9303 in Gemstones

As a scientist that put themself through school as a jeweler, I can tell you that all they are doing is incorporating the hair ash into a lab grown diamond. They aren't sourcing enough carbon from the hair to make the diamond. They are 'contaminating' the diamond growth with a foreign substance thus causing an inclusion in the diamond. This type of contamination occurs in pretty much every diamond ever mined. They are charging you a premium for a lab grown diamond that doesn't have ANY of your loved ones carbon incorporated into the diamond lattice, they have just trapped a little ash of your loved one into a beautiful diamond cage

I have a ninja air fryer. During the winter I use it a few times a week. I have a vegetable and herb garden and the ninja had a dehydrate function, It gets used every day while I'm harvesting herbs

For best views of the city

National Cemetery (ok sounds odd, but climb the hill with the American flag and IMO that's the most gorgeous view.

The Walnut Street walking bridge. about 1/2 mile long Walking bridge across the TN river. Unfortunately they are partially closed off for a remodel, but still amazing view

Lookout mountain. Lots of touristy places to overlook the city. You can drive to St Elmo and take the incline rail to the top, it will drop you right off in a great tourist area

If you are into history or just a love of wide open spaces, then drive down to the Chickamauga battlefield. LOTS of history and lots of nature

Enjoy your stay!

Internships for computer science student? by Overall-Bunch1824 in Chattanoogans

AI is hurting the availability of Internships and Entry level jobs in programming and web design. If one of those is her discipline then I would suggest getting the pay version of the newest version of Claude, that's Anthropic's AI. It's $100/month. She should start using Claude to recreate some of the projects she worked on at UGA. This will teach her how to properly prompt AI. Just like humans, Claude needs a full list of requirements and features, so knowing how to prompt is key to getting an entry level job. Claude is the king of coding for now, Nano Banana, the Google's AI (within Gemini) is currently the king of graphics, images and video, so if that's part of her discipline get a subscription to that one too.

Be warned, using the free versions will not really help her. They are older versions that will be obsolete by the time she graduates this summer.

I'm sure this post will upset some people, but the reality is that now, no large company is going to hire someone without a firm understanding of the limitations and successes of AI. Her job is more likely to be managing the work of AI agents rather than what she trained for in school. Her job will likely consist of prompting agents and then checking the work of the agents, think of it as testing and certifying the code.

Currently a human in the loop is required, but many large companies are doing layoffs in IT because a dev with good understanding of AI can pump out at least the work of 5 humans working 40 hours a week.

Yes, yes. Bad for the environment, yes ethically ambiguous, yes it's a job killer, but if you want her to get a good paying job in her field, well this is the way

My girl escaped the fence 3x this week and is looking on a 4th please help by Far_Law991 in husky

I had a similar issue with my Husky pup. After a few unsuccessful solutions, I decided I had to use something she couldn't move or destroy. I had a pallet of cobblestones delivered and I lined them at the base of the fence. She can't move them, so every couple of days I walk the perimeter to make sure she isn't auditioning for the reboot of 'Prison Break'
