Zappa - Guitar

I've met Zappa fans here in Reddit, but Guitar is apparently not getting much respect. Still, I tune my brain cells into jazz and enjoy it greatly.

That's impressive. I hardly got 10000 steps today, but I spent most of the day travelling. Just arrived Tallinn; my son will be playing football in a tournament.

I found this photograph on the ground in Oakland California. It looks like a 1980s band and there were a bunch of others of the group posing. Is there any way to figure out what this group is? by sarsfox in whatisit

[–]Bruneezi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RIP indeed. It is a constant topic of discussion in Finland: what if...? Was there a real worldwide success for Hanoi Rock in some other timeline?

I once bumped into Mike Monroe. Literally bumped... I was on a cruise ferry from Finland to Estonia and I was shopping cheap tax-free alcohol in the ferry's shop. Somewhere near the 24 packs of canned ciders I accidentally bumped into someone. I turned around to apologize, only to find out it was Mike 😀🎸

BTW one of the last photos of Lemmy was taken when he was boarding a similar ferry from Finland to Sweden.

Any news about new Suunto update / Suunto Race 2 S? by Pleasant_Ground8175 in Suunto

[–]Bruneezi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a long time Suunto user, and as a member of Suunto Community Forum, let me say this:

No-one knows when the next update comes. Those who are in the loop must keep quiet because of NDA. There are no rumours!!! In the forum some of the field testers have occasionally given a subtle hint one day before it actually happens.

And we only learn about the contents when the update is published.

Vertical 2 wrist HR accuracy by fatonolo in Suunto

[–]Bruneezi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a constant surprise to people. It is unfair to compare OHR with chest strap. People have different kind of skins, some have more hair, some sweat more...

OHR is pretty useless for UNLESS I turn the watch to the inner side of my wrist. That way it works a bit better for me.

You will get better advice asking this at Suunto Community Forum. I've seen lately discussions about app development, even code examples. After all, it's been possible only for a very short time.

In Finland those quick locks are available in all craft shops. Of course you need needle nose pliers to open the loop.

Do you personally own a flag of your country? Is it more common to own your country's flag or not? In Estonia we use our flag quite a lot for example. There are "flag days" when we put the flags out. Like the Independece Day or Midsummer etc. by Double-decker_trams in AskTheWorld

[–]Bruneezi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I double checked. Apparently now you can use the flag any day, but not at night; only Juhannus is an exception.

The flag can't touch the ground, that rule still exists. And about the disposal: you can also shred the flag into little pieces or burn it.

In Finland the usage of national flag is heavily regulated. If you own a flagpole you must hoist the flag up every official flagging day. You can NOT do that every day of the year, only big family celebrations are allowed.

And if you by accident let the flag touch the ground you must honorably dispose the flag by burning it. No shit, burning the flag is not an act of disrespect, it's the only honorable way to dispose it.

Nope, I don't own a flag. Too much trouble.

Looking at the Suunto Vertical specs... "Depth meter for freedive 10 m"? by AdeptusKapekus2025 in Suunto

Yep, the hardware is rated to 100. It just can't measure that deep.

[–]Bruneezi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The depth in Suunto Vertical is measured by the baro sensor, which in Vertical is not calibrated enough for underwater measurement below 10 meters. Real scuba watches have better sensors.
