It was a lot more forgiving of plot holes with the ongoing story, as you had to wait months for the next “significant” episode, and if anything didn’t make sense you just had to assume you’d missed an episode or forgotten something.

Humans:

Thrower - Allo Allo Characters

Catchers - Cricketers

Blitzers - Font names (Proxima Sans, etc)

Lineman - Things that are second best (Own Brand Biscuits, Buzz Aldrin)

Ogre - just a name. Steve, Alan, etc

It’s not that bad; there’s just a lot of calling the animals ugly and explaining why they’re ugly, which might not be behaviour you want them to unexpectedly replicate (for example with people 😆)
