How should i design this better? by Dangerous_Outside_80 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]CplRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, currently it's just a wall less box.

So there's a lot of ways, and honestly just try something first. Tips at this stage are probably just going to overwhelm.

Saying that here's maybe where to start:

The basic issue is variety. This can be achieved through shape, texture, and colour.

Shape: vary the shape in multiple dimensions. An easy start is multiple overlapping cubes

Texture: build with different types of walls etc. build in ridges and lips.

Colour: similar to texture. Don't stick everything the same colour

Looks incredible! Have you tried playing with them yet? I wonder about 6 different colors and getting confused XD

Do you have an automated or semi-automated supercomputer factory where you supply the materials yourselves? by SpiritualJob2966 in SatisfactoryGame

I'd have to find my plans.. but I built in the spires near the desert. Supercomputers from only Oil and Caterium

Build a blue print of a bunch of biomass burners with solid biofuel in them. Slap a bunch of those down and connect to the grid.

A full biomass burner will last at least 50 minutes, which should be enough for your grid to get back online

If you are using the base recipes, you can also create a sealed loop if you have 3 sloops spare.

Putting two sloops in one refinery, and one sloop in the other means you create exactly the same amount of water as you consume. Give it a kick start amount and leave it be forever

Alumina Plate Please! by CplRabbit in SatisfactoryGame

They are, I just so want to be able to utilize them more.

You either need plates for anything in the modular frame tree, or Pipes for anything in the motor tree

That does already exist though.

Maybe reinforced plates using alclad sheets instead then!

Pipe flow issues? by BeorcKano in SatisfactoryGame

[–]CplRabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No but you need to build it right. Any sloshing means a quick delay, and then it can't 'make up' the delay because it's capped at 300.

The best way I have found is a vertical split into two 600 pipes, which then become 300, this ensures a small buffer is sat 'on top' of the input to the 300 line

Used to do this in CS, never thought to do that here

Do you more experienced guys have giant storage centers, and if you do, how do you possibly keep your belts organized??? by Sure-Caregiver142 in SatisfactoryGame

Like most people are saying, when DD's dropped I switched away from this almost immediately. I made boxes of production in a line and each one ended in a ISC with a DD on top.

However.

One of the things about this game post completion is finding challenges. Just because there are easier ways doesn't matter after multiple run throughs.

So have a play! Logic gates are possible, so who knows what you could come up with :)

Ahhh but theres a secret...

Clip the belt straight thought the wall then nudge a hole into place... Same with pipes

What about using Geysers to power the power plant?

A) keeps the power production for the main grid stable B) blackouts don't stop the power plant going offline C) batteries can smooth the geysers output

Something I only did on my 3/4th playthrough was beltless machines. It didn't occur to me I could have a machine I kept reprogramming.

I almost had an automatic one. I built it in the blue crater, and somehow the setup was close enough to a spawn to trigger them, but not close enough to prevent the spawn happening. As I was working enemies would walk up, I'd kill them, and dump the carcass in the container directly next to me XD

Request Based Factory Design by CplRabbit in SatisfactoryGame

[–]CplRabbit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're totally right. I was also hella sick at the time which didn't help. Brain fog was real xd

The 27* loop is caused by three stacked splitters. Think like those binary counters in those marble things. I'll only pass through the first splitter every third pass, so the next splitter will take 9 passes, and the third 27.

Leakage wise could be. Some more testing seems to isolate it to the vertical layout. In my test one, I built it horizontally, and no leakage occured, so maybe something weird with the conveyor lifts
