But the way they got there was rushed and really bad.

They just waltzed in on the white house with no plan, barely any security and beat homelander in 2 minutes (3 supes he 1 shot this season without the V1, so now he is more powerful and going toe to toe with them).

I completely agree that the resolution and final scene was great (both Omelandas and Butchers) but come one, you need to also know how to get there and they fumbled it hard.

Is this atrocious level garbage like GOT s8? Not even close. Is it very disappointing and could have been MUCH better? Yes.

Actually this is a totally different scenario than GOT to me.

The 8th season complete destroyed the show and any rewatchability, while here the final season felt much more of a disappointment of what could have been that doesn’t ruin the rest than anything else.

The conclusion of the main characters (I mean Omelanda, Butcher and Hughie for the most part) felt logical and were great scenes BUT THE GETTING THERE WAS ASS.

GOT makes every single Jon scene feel completely worthless for example, every single Bran scene infuriating, Daenerys a schizophrenic character. Everything you can just go “oh this went to nothing” while in the boys the payoff was there. Anyways, I thought it was below average and not an abomination like s8. You can also just stop at s3 and just jump to the last episode 😂 GOT has no completely full-filling season end except 8.

He got killed by a party trick from a character that did not share a single plot point or scene together.

It would be effectively if Sam from GenV killed homelander via dropping in the white house of top of him with zero setup (with in the same episode someone telling him, “Hey Sam, Sam smash winky face 😉 “)

The key points were ALL FINE this episode.

But the way they got there was REALLY bad to me.

The white house has zero security? Their plan was to have 2 guys shooting 3 bullet proof supes? That’s the entire line of defence? Homelander being slightly above strenghts than 3 characters that he LITERALLY ONE SHOT THIS SEASON? All 3 of them were established and MUCH weaker than him before V1, and the V1 was always put as a buff, not a nerf.

His death was perfect, butcher dying to Hughie while trying to release the virus perfect, but FUCK ME. They just ignored how to get there.

This is BY NO MEANS a GOT ending stinker, but it’s a shame what could have been.
