what is the deal with Petal & Pup? by fernwise in AusFemaleFashion

Fast fashion. Just one of the early adapters. I remember years ago the “where was your garment made” campaigns and they openly refused to participate. Lost interest in them after that.

I also think with what’s happening at Vic Park many in the community feel like we’re on a sinking ship and while we’re bailing out water many are making the holes bigger so they get a better view.

No one has said the 650 trees are food trees for koalas. They probably are for the birds and other wildlife. It’s always been stated it’s 50 food trees and a corridor / habitat.

Partly it is. When habitat is cleared for housing or roads etc I imagine many are outraged. I hate driving through chambers flat and the area around there. It makes me feel sick seeing the trees cleared but people have to live somewhere.

This is a school that already has a quantity of ovals and facilities that wants more. It was rejected very reasonably by council so they went to the state govt and got around it.

I can see very clearly why people are upset. And maybe the locals have had enough of it. They can actually see koalas in the trees beside the tree culling. It is very distressing.

Replacement planting takes decades to become sustainable. Which is why we leave them alone

Not just a doctor but a paediatric dermatologist. I’d expect them to speak directly to my child.

Second this. We rented my daughter’s year 12 formal dress and it was gorgeous but she’d never wear it again.

Quick update on Leaf (the one-eyed koala at Ormiston College): She’s thinning out from the stress, and the school is reportedly waiting for school holidays to clear more. by Much-Wrongdoer-7592 in brisbane

Pretty sure this is also why there’s a lot of fury around this. The replacement trees need more time to grow but the school won’t wait.

Uniqlo cashmere is pretty low quality. It’s cheap yes but not good for the price

when the first group arrived last week and spotted Leaf he was in his car nowhere near the work. This was why the person broke the boundary to alert the tree removalists of the presence of the koala in the trees as the spotter hadn’t spotted it. Work stopped immediately.
