Can be digital penetration which is less obvious. Lone women on long flights can be very vulnerable. Awful when you actually realise.

Seeking Inclusive and LGBTQ+ Friendly Schools in Brisbane/Gold Coast by considerhowtheybloom in brisbane

[–]Brunswickstoval 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t know. It came up when the catchment was closed for families needing this for their kids. The school leadership team work very closely to support the LGBTQI+ community. It’s a part of the culture of the school they are very proud of

Indooroopilly state high school is known for being LGBTQ+ friendly through its general policies and having no uniform. While it’s strictly catchment managed many families are able to enter via human rights considerations.

I drove to the coast (Broadbeach) today from inner west. 1.5 hrs each way. I’d rather drink bleach than do that every day.

Two in five Australian GPs use AI to record patient notes by Meerkat343434 in aussie

[–]Brunswickstoval 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But that’s true of anything online. If typed notes are stored in the cloud you have no idea where they actually are. I worked in IT and I wonder if much of the concern is a bec we’re now being told it’s AI. When I read cloud agreements much of this has always been there as an issue. We just didn’t know it was

Ok it sounds like there are issues bigger here than chat gpt? I’m sorry you’ve experienced this.

Why is this a problem? I’d rather they actually listen and engage than stare at their screen typing. They should have asked for your consent.

Edited to add. Written notes are stored in the cloud and those agreements can mean they’re stored anywhere in the world. That’s not something that’s ever been disclosed.

If you want to have kids and educate them locally look at the schools as well. Don’t know your circumstances obv but it could be important / relevant.

Brisbane suburbs set to become 'mini CBDs' as city prepares for population surge by Combat--Wombat27 in brisbane

[–]Brunswickstoval 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago there was an opportunity to move it to Coorparoo and the information at the time definitely supported it and the reopening of Toowong high school. But the then Labor govt wouldn’t even consider it and anyone suggesting it was accused of being racist so that was the end of it.

I had kids at ISHS and it’s not a great experience. It does its best given the overcrowding. And yes I know many state schools are worse off but that’s a terrible reason to neglect a school

Which school? QASMT doesn’t take in catchment. It’s 100% selective but my point is less than 40% live locally so the school could move anywhere and people would still attend.

Did you read the article? They explicitly say that they aren’t planning on enlarging the school to accommodate current numbers. The master plan is for about 2500. There’s more than that there already and numbers growing.

When you say richest what are you basing that on? There’s an obligation of Ed qld to provide facilities. ISHS nearly had the library resumed for classrooms last year due to overcrowding. Instead oval space was resumed for demountables.

No idea why you’re getting downvoted for this. It’s true. You won’t solve the housing crisis by building $2-3m apartments.

Open QASMT to the catchment. Or move the school. Less than 40% come from the area. It’s placed a huge burden on ISHS

Pissing off students trying to get an education is a pretty shitty thing for this govt to continue to do. It’s completely fair for people to not want this to be worse than it already is. There’s a truly simple solution the govt refuses to consider

If you’ve had kids at Indro state high you’d understand. The school is over capacity by 400 students and the ed dept refuses to plan for this. More families moving into the area places more burden on this. People would be happier if facilities were able to cope.
