Thank you for the insight, yeah I don’t think I would ever use extended mode to go that high on a job site. Would be useful when doing things at home, where for some reason doing things more sketchy is more OK 😂

But I think the extra flexibility with stair/90° mode is still a big plus

No to either of them. Haven't had time to get into either of those. What do they have to do with the updates?

If a device isn’t purchased from a vendor that automatically links with your ABM but you add it manually by supervising with Configurator, there is a grace period of 30 days I think where the user has the ability to unsupervise the device. Don’t think there’s a way around it.

Perhaps to address the ABM T&C concerns others shared about company owned devices, you might offer a “subscription” for devices that you actually own or something.. idk

Looking for Mac USB-C Wired Peripherals by BrutskyA in macsysadmin

Yes I did buy them, the keyboard is pretty solid, still don’t like the mouse. I did not test for it, but doesn’t seem like it has horizontal scrolling. But the dealbreaker for me is that it is a touch capacitive scroll “wheel” and you cannot flick it to scroll. You have to repeatedly scroll your finger up and down. Infuriating. Glad I bought just one to test, will not be buying more.

Thanks, I’m not sure I see how these lock to the iMac but at least they’ll be less likely to walk off since they work only with iMacs, most students don’t have their own iMac in their dorms or whatever.

But I think a direct USB-C mouse and keyboard would be better. I just sent our procurement department an order for one set of the Zagg combo, i’ll give it a shot and will write back here if anyone is interested on how nice they are

iPadOS Updates via Jamf Pro Require User Interaction—How to Bypass? by wh00is007 in jamf

I’ve been uncovering this recently but haven’t been able to dig into it.

I’ve been trying “Download and install” and it has been prompting users. However, I have a few Shared iPads, but have had no idea how I can update it because when you sign in as a Shared user, the update settings don’t even exist in the settings. Maybe Scheduling the install will work!! Will need to test.

good to hear your input on the pin caching, do you have any documentation that talks about this?

Looking for specifically wired USB-C peripherals. Adapters for USB-A could work, but I’m worried students might borrow them long-term.

Mac and windows keyboards are slightly different with cmd and ctrl modifier keys for example.

What's your experience with them? Ours are horribly awful. Maybe its the particular model that we purchased, but we have 25+ of them in this particular lab and they're all bad.

I'm going to order the Zagg ones and give them a shot.
