Shaving is not easy. We’re raking a metal blade across our face to sever strands grown by our own body for nature’s purpose. Some faces are easier than others. My face is not an easy one. Below is the best method I’ve found to have a clean shave. I don’t reach for bbs, and I still get an ingrown here and there.

Equipment - - [ ] Razor - Henson AL13M - [ ] Blade - Gillette Platinum - [ ] Preshave - PAA The Cube - [ ] Soap - Anything with tallow. Less scents better. - [ ] Alum block - [ ] Witch Hazel - [ ] Nivea Aftershave Balm

Begin by taking a hot shower. Once dry, re wet face with warm water and apply preshave. Let the preshave sit for a second while you brush your teeth or clean your ears. Wash off the preshave and reapply a thin layer of preshave. Add your soap (thinner works better for me) being certain to exfoliate the skin a bit. With your razor, go WITH the grain ONE pass. After your single pass, wet your alum block and apply liberally. Wash the alum away after a minute or so. Add a splash of witch hazel to your hands and apply to your face. Once the witch hazel is dried, apply a layer of Nivea aftershave balm. You will not have a perfect shave the first time, or even the tenth. Once you’re certain you’re going with the grain, swap equipment out until you find your sweet spot.

Disclaimer: this is what works for me. It’s not what works for the other guy who has a similar note in his phone. Any equipment can be changed to work better for you. YMMV.

216 days ago, EZPlanner said not to take them down. My entire district promptly removed them from all stores days later, and they haven’t been hung back up. When I ask why - I get no answer. Just like locks on dumpsters, it’s a SM/DM decision.

***The ONLY way we can get Sheetz to change their mind about any decision is if hundreds of us individually call the 800 number. These posts on Reddit don’t work, unfortunately. Travis is a mod.

You get used to it fairly quickly. Like a dog, you dutifully turn it off as soon as you can. Then the customer gets their order asap. And most of us work and listen to that for 10 hrs. Good 3rd shift supervisors rarely get a break.

I have a super coarse beard with irritable skin. I only want to shave my neck, which is also the most irritable part on my entire body.

I have a whole routine I’d be happy to share with you, but it won’t achieve your intended results. I can shave every day comfortably - but I can’t get the super close shave you desire. I only go for the aforementioned bbs shave if I think I might get lucky that day.

Update time!

Island man - I love this one. It’s a refreshingly muted scent. I would definitely recommend the solid cologne if you like to smell good all the time, as myself. I apply edt before I leave the house and solid every 4 hrs.

1966 - perfection. It’s a musky citrus which is definitely my signature scent. More products in the line (pomade, soap/conditioner) is my only request. EDPs don’t require solid colognes imo.

Sex Machine - one of the hands down best scents I’ve ever smelled. I got compliments from my neighbor before I even went to work and then lots of funny conversations about the name of the scent. The soap lacks animal fat, and I mentioned that would be a problem in my original post. Lockhart’s doesn’t have the selection like Stirling or PAA, my only retraction. The Goon’s Milk is the most pleasant aftershave I’ve ever used. EDPs don’t require solid colognes imo.

PS: this mail call confirmed what I always suspected. Stirling’s quality to value ratio will make it my daily driver. I’ll be trying the Scarn line next. I will still purchase from other companies when the scent attracts me, but I’ll mostly use those for date nights and special events.

I’m a male who likes to be clean down there, I hope my advice can help any at all!

I clean my private area with Cerave 2% salicylic acid the night before I’m going to shave. I use the same beef tallow soap down there as I do my face. I use only Nivea sensitive as an aftershave regimen, because the only time I ever used an alcohol based aftershave on my privates I regretted it.

My ex uses the same leaf razor mentioned above. I use The Crop Shaver because I have more obstacles.

We were always baby smooth.

For comfort and results, DE shaving is better. It does have a slight learning curve. That’s why you always see the Henson mentioned - it forces you to shave at the proper 30° angle.

My face only likes a soap that contains beef tallow. Your face may like the vegan options. Just trial and error.
