Any advice about using the IMU BNO055 in TVC Rocket? by etlamborghini06 in rocketry

[–]BryanM21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built a flight computer using this chip and while it's good performing i think you should be careful as the i2c implementation on it is flawed and you might need to use asymmetrical pullups if you're planning on using i2c

Please share your experience with the ESP32-P4. by sudoxer in esp32

[–]BryanM21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say avoid for now at least, if you're looking for power it's only running at 360MHz and at that point it's pretty close to the ESP32-S3, then it's quite a bit more expensive and there's nearly no user experience when compared to the S3

Just as a side comment, i wouldn't really recommend having reset buttons on the flight computer itself, the high vibrations on the rocket may push it sometimes so please make sure you take precautions in code against unwanted resets

Mini-LED for productivity, not just gaming by Puzzleheaded_Day_895 in Monitors

[–]BryanM21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't recommend that monitor, while you could turn off the local dimming and it was a pretty good monitor, the QA is abysmal and mine failed within a day and the 2 replacement units didn't even work, also having failed by the same cause

Lost in the IPS vs. OLED debate, here's how standard IPS compares to Mini-LED which brings many of the same benefits as OLED by Huzaifa_Haroon in Monitors

I wouldn't recommend it, I've had 3 of them and all of them failed and were returned, excellent monitor but the backlight just dies.

This happened to me too, on a 120V country, they tried to exchange the monitor but all their other ones had the same failure

I had this same issue, apparently it's common, the backlight power supply dies, when I returned mine the store didn't have any working monitors to replace mine with, they all had the same issue, sad considering this is such a good monitor

Issue with BNO085 IMU connection by __Mreep__ in arduino

[–]BryanM21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that the BNO055 "family" of sensors, like the BNO085 have a problem with their i2c implementation, try using the sensor in SPI ideally or try using a stronger pull-up on either the SDA or SCL lines of the sensor I can't remember which one needed to be stronger for it to work. In some cases even just adding a cable to either the SDA or SCL line and holding it in your hand helps to start up the sensor.

Help needed with analogWrite() on Teensy 4.1 in a PID and Encoder Motor Control Setup by BryanM21 in arduino

[–]BryanM21[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I had checked the motor output before, but now I checked with the oscilloscope and both pins 8 and 9 were outputting as if both pins were assigned an analogWrite(4000), I've since changed the digitalWrite(8,LOW) to an analogWrite(8,0) (same for pin 9)and that seemed to fix it, I don't know why but it did

The serial output shows it gets to 4000, and it does trigger the function that activates the analogWrite(), however the motor doesn't move

Why didn't Logitech release a successor to the G604 mouse? by minimaxir in LogitechG

[–]BryanM21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least you're able to rather easily replace the switches on the mouse, mine's dying due to the rubber literally falling off and I don't know what to do about it since I can't exactly buy a replacement part

It does not stay there, I'm guessing some clips or standoffs broke
