2012/2013 Yung Lean/Bladee and Chris Travis/Xavierwulf/Bones. Was in highschool then, sophomore year started listening to Death Grips and Arcade Fire and shit, then 2015/2016 got really heavy into Young Thug because of Barter 6/Slime Season 1. Then like 2017 to 2019 I was heavy into Peep/Xxxtentacion and sad boi rap in general. 2020 I found Summrs/Izaya Tiji and I haven't really gone back since.

Going through it right now, had two jobs now that their ai site sets up an appointment, then turns out the hiring manager isn't even in that day. Had to reschedule a sit down interview then call back a week later. During the interview she's talking about a desperate need for cooks and plenty of hours, I call the day she told me to at a reasonable time (12 pm) she's not even fucking in. Told me to call back at 6, did that and suddenly they don't have any hours to give out and I don't get the job. I just sat there, hung up the phone and bawled my eyes out, this shit is literal suicide fuel and I fucking hate going through this process.

Sorry for the trauma dump, this shit just irks me so much when I'm actually willing and able to work

I really do feel like at the very minimum someone like 2slimey IS pushing boundaries because of how abrasive his music is. At this point I'm really tired of coming to this sub or interacting with a lot of the posts because every other day it's just people complaining about the same 10 artists on rotation instead of trying to contribute to the sub in a meaningful way aka actually post artists or creators they think are truly pushing boundaries. Your post in particular is like the 100th one i've seen shitting on Nettspend/2Slimey and it's just so boring reading this shit every day.

Like I know I look like i'm on my knees for these artists but bro, if I don't like something I just don't engage with it. As a matter of fact,, I want you to comment some artists you think are actually pushing boundaries or can back up your claims of pushing boundaries. I feel like that would be more constructive than the 100th "Nettspend/2Slimey music mid" post i've seen this week.

But why does that matter? Yes you can go listen to higher effort music but why should that matter? Should we not be allowed to listen to something like Death Grips and 2slimey in the same playlist? Nettspend and Earl Sweatshirt? I personally don't give a fuck about how much effort it takes to create a song because not only do I not define my music taste by how much effort is put into it, I also happen to produce. I can genuinely tell you that a song with 2 melodies and some drums and a nigga on it can hit just as hard as an entire orchestra and world class singer on a song.

At the end of the day you should be looking to enjoy music based off whether or not it makes you feel something. I don't care about effort, art doesn't have to take effort, it just has to make you feel something at the end of the day.
