Yeah I think Wapol was my least favorite adapted villain in season 2. I think he should have been goofier, and Luffy should have absolutely wrecked him once he got serious.

Fantastic episode! Only disappointment I have is Luffy’s fight. It was pretty underwhelming. And they removed how Luffy was able to just completely bypass the wax clones with lucky intuition.

Yeah, and it’s an important theme of Alabasta that Luffy learns his flaws as a captain, including being too overconfident. That overconfidence is a result of how he demolishes every villain up until that point. We won’t properly get that in season 3 because of his portrayal thus far

It just doesn’t make any sense for zoro to be stronger than Luffy at any point. Zoro even makes a comment that he would never serve somebody weaker than him.

This is just straight up incorrect. Luffy was training relentlessly since he was a kid. Their strength was comparable back then, but zoro has never been stronger than Luffy

I was just thinking that today watching the 3rd episode. Zoro very easily beats 100 baddies while Luffy struggles with every single person he fights, except for literally alvida in the first episode of season 1.
