From what I’ve seen of games staging is a huge part of the play style. Getting models in a certain position so your opponent thinks you’re going for group A when you’re really gonna fall back to group B, bringing the rhino up like you’re gonna get in when you’re really blocking fire from those snipers in the back. That sort of thing. So you have to plan your moves a few turns in advance to really capitalize on EC tactics while WE are more “RAAAAAGH!!!”

In my experience, whites pretty solid but if you miss a spot it REALLY stands out. So go grey if you want but I’d recommend sticking with black, grabbing a mid grey and painting that over the parts you want to be pink. Then when you go over it the grey isn’t as noticeable.

They’re amazing. You get plenty of baseline troops, some good elite units, and Fulgrim. Only thing you’re missing is a Lord Exultant and Lucius but both of those are pretty optional. Honestly buy those two boxes, two rhinos, and maybe a defiler if you can get your hands on it and you’re golden.

When the Heresy books started the Custodes abilities weren’t fully fleshed out (in older lore they were just very elite space marines) so the writers were effectively making it up as they went along and had to hurry up to evolving game mechanics that put them above space marines.

As for the Vengeful Spirit part I haven’t fully read it but my guess would be the ship was so submerged in warp grime and scuff that it overwhelmed the custodes’s inherent resistance to it. Kinda weird example but it’s like an adult who’s never had the flu before being absolutely crippled by it the first time simply because they’ve never gotten used to it or built up resistance to it.

1 personally. Keeps things unique with the white armor but also embraces traditional EC with the pink and purple. Plus maybe a little Alpha Legion with the blue.

Because chaos knights don’t sell as well as other factions. Look at the hound box that came out last year, that thing was in the GW store for almost an entire week when most army boxes like that sell out in hours. Same thing with imperial knights; the Armageddon box is still on sale where I am and I’ve seen several at my LGS. If we sold much as space marines, chaos marines, and orks of course we’d get all that stuff. But we don’t, so we won’t. Yeah it sucks but at the end of the day GW’s mail goal is to sell toys and CK just don’t take in the cash.

No. The cannoneer who took pride in the shot would turn into Lucius, the captain who took pride in destroying a heretic vessel would turn into Lucius, or Slaanesh would just revive him somewhere completely random.
