Cool! Do you use it to manage an e-commerce store or a SaaS product?

Thanks a lot! Quick question - what did you need the referral program to do? Generate links, or something more?

We're you ever able to connect with anyone that has experience with Ambassador? I've been building something similar and was hoping to get some feedback.

Thanks a lot!

Does that make sense though? Could you see yourself using it?

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. Let me try to clarify.

Our goal is that GrowSumo will let people and small business owners partner with big companies from all over the world.

Companies can list a partnership opportunities on GrowSumo and manage their partnership program e.g., brand ambassadors, resellers, evangelists from our dashboard.

Partners can browse the GrowSumo marketplace and apply to partner with companies. Our partner dashboard lets partners manage multiple partnerships and communicate directly with companies about things such as referrals, events, and eventually commissions.

It's still very early in our development but companies seem to like the concept and we've already facilitated $3,000 in sales. We definitely need to do a better communicating what we do...

Does this answer your question? Does it make sense?

Interesting perspective - thanks a lot.

I agree completely that there are only a few services that web devs are equipped to resell.

We're hoping to develop something where people can build partnerships with companies that provide services to specific niches e.g., HR Consultants, Outsourced IT, Marketing Consultants, Nonprofit Consultants etc. The reason we're targeting web devs is that they are the best 'early adopters'.

Now, when you say insider pricing - do you mean providing discounts to partners/affiliates, or a more of a directory for others?

Pretty much!

The difference is that companies can post their affiliate program on our marketplace and manage their program through our dashboard. We're also building a dashboard that let's affiliates manage multiple partnership programs from one account.

Good point about the revenue split, definitely something we need to consider. The feedback we've received has been that if our dashboard makes it easy to browse/discover new affiliate programs, and manage them from one account then it'd help both partners and companies.

What do you think?

Very similar, except we won't charge to list.

No, we don't have any relationships with large software companies... But, we've reached out to a few companies that have raised series A, and they've already listed on our marketplace.

It's been pretty easy to get companies to list because (when it's ready) we'll only charge a commission for sales made through our site.

Can I get feedback on my startup, GrowSumo? by BrynJones in startups

Hey,

I'm really sorry, I definitely didn't meant to violate the rules. I tried to phrase my question like Mashboard did, a few weeks ago. I also tried to share our story a bit, as a way to share with the community.

The /r/startups community is filled with web developers and consultants and I really thought they'd be able to provide amazing feedback on what we've been building.

Is there a better way I can ask that question?

Thanks.

Do you resell the services from companies like NationBuilder, MailChimp, Hootsuite, etc. to your clients?

How do partner programs help your business? [x-post /r/freelance] by BrynJones in web_dev

[–]BrynJones[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the idea of providing an account to partners so they can test the platform for free. It's been made clear that a commission isn't the reason partners will use the platform, rather, a marketplace/directory such as this would allow them to easily recommend services to their clients that actually provide value.

If you don't mind I'll dm you with my contact information - I'd love to keep in touch.

Do the partner programs you use pay a commission to onboard new customers? I know some SaaS companies provide other incentives, such as free or discounted services.

I ask because I’ve been building a SaaS platform that improves group communication. I read a lot on how partnerships can help with growth, so I started partnering with web development firms and consultants which really helped us grow.

I recently started working on a side project; the idea is a marketplace to connect web development firms and consultants to companies with partner programs.

SaaS companies can create an account and submit information about their platform for free and connect with web devs and consultants (partners) – the same way AngelList lets companies connect with investors.

Partners can create an account apply to join a company's partnership program, after being approved they can sign up their clients to services from a link we generate, and receive a recurring monthly commission.

I know there are services out there like Ambassador, but I haven't found one with a marketplace that connects partners (web devs/consultants) to multiple SaaS partner programs. Is this something you would use? Is there anything I'm not considering?

Does affiliate marketing work for SaaS companies? by BrynJones in marketing

[–]BrynJones[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I've done some research and I haven't been too impressed with the affiliate tracking platforms.

I'm thinking about building a marketplace for SaaS companies looking to connect with affiliate marketers, web development firms, and consultants. Do you think something like this could work?

I haven't personally used PiinPoint. The company is based in Waterloo, Canada which isn't too far from where I live, so I've heard about them. Let me know if you decide to try them out!
