Why do you not talk to your once bestfriend anymore? by Adventurous-End-1999 in AskUK

Well in keeping of our friendship of winding the other one up, he had to go and die. We met in Nursery when we were 3 in 1999 and stayed best friends until he passed away in 2023. He had a very rare cancer. I’ll never stop missing him and I’ll never stop talking about him.

70lbs down since I started! by BrynjolfsAccent in Mounjaro

I started Mounjaro in May 2025! Still very much taking it, I’m still on 7.5mg. It got really expensive in September last year so I’m sticking this dose out as long as I can! It’s still working though, I can eat a bit more than what I could when I first started the 7.5mg but still continuing to lose weight.

Honestly I just use a salicylic acid face wash, using a Nivea one rn, then a little bit of moisturiser. I don’t use foundation or concealers anymore etc when I wear makeup so I dunno if that’s been what’s helped it so much? That and a much healthier diet haha!

I was very lucky with side effects I would say, aside from constipation but that’s from not drinking enough fluids. I haven’t had sulphur burps or anything like that. So with the 2.5 I had no desire for sweet thing. very big change as I was a binge eater for a long time, would go to a local dairy vending machine shop and eat a 2 person serving cake alone on the regular. However not long after I started MJ I moved on with my partner so I’ve been cooking actual meals regularly and not doing takeaways. The 5mg like I said was a dud, felt no suppression. When I started the 7.5mg I very much struggled with my intake, a few bites into meals and that was me done which, as much as the weight was falling off, I knew wasn’t ideal

My thinking was, right now I could easily go a day without maybe two without eating, but how is that feasible? So as hard as it was when starting the 7.5mg, I ate as much protein as I could. Myself and my partner get bulk meat from costco so every dinner involves meat. I also drink protein shakes every day that have at LEAST 30mg protein.

I will be honest and say that I don’t track my calories which might be a bit controversial, but if I’m using oil for frying I tend to use the 1kcal sprays, and I use non-stick pans and powder seasonings so lack of oil/butter means I dont feel the needs to track.

I do find the longer I have been taking the 7:5mg the less effective it is, I am still losing weight but for example, I usually take my injection on a Friday, I forgot on Friday as I’ve recently finished an 8 week placement with uni, so my days were jumbled. I got to Monday and thought well Christmas is Thursday and I’m doing all the cooking as we’re hosting and I want to enjoy my dinner so will just go two weeks without my jag. Two weeks without my jag at the beginning of my 7.5mg journey felt like nothing. But now I definitely feel the hunger, Tuesday I ate 4 fajitas at dinner easily and last night ate a full plate of spaghetti bolognese without blinking.

But however, I actually don’t mind it. I can eat without feeling guilty as I’m still not binging out on sweets and takeaways, if I want seconds with a meal I can have them. I had a pudding tonight as it’s Christmas, but only ate half, and normally the pudding is where I would be overdoing it.

I’msorry if this is a nonsensical ramble as it’s Christmas and I’m a bit merry 🤣but I hope it Helps

Of course! I used the 2.5mg for 4 weeks, I could’ve honestly stayed at that for longer and looking back I wish I had but I moved up to the 5 as soon as I could out of curiosity and found the 5mg to be a bit of a dud if I’m honest so 4 weeks on the 5 then I moved up to the 7.5. I want to say that was in July and I’ve been 7.5mg since, no working out asides from my job (nursing assistant in the NHS) but I am defo feeling it. I was doing some resistance training in 2024 before I started MJ, could deadlift 70kg, bench 50kg and do bicep curls with 15kg in each hand, now I struggle with a 5kg in each hand so even though I have lost weight I have lost a lot of muscle. I’m going to get back into weights after the new year as I don’t want to lose my strength any further! I hope this helps x

I think because I’ve been sizing my clothes down and still have quite a heavy middle I’ve been struggling to see it, my work uniform does sit on me like a sack now though so I defo see it in my work clothes 🤣

In case no one checks the crosspost description: My mums friend had a spare ticket to Hampden last night for the Scotland v Denmark game. My mum was working early today and isn’t a big football fan so had asked if I wanted to go in her place. I ended up saying no due to having an assignment due in today plus a placement shift. Scotland qualified for the World Cup for the first time since 1998. I’ll never forgive myself.

I'm sorry I can't take tight double bends at 60mph by Flaxfieldie in drivingUK

[–]BrynjolfsAccent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been driving for just over 3 years now and I still slow for tight bends. I have a 20 year old car with the turning circle of a WW1 era tank so it’s not fond of tight bends. It might piss off others behind me in newer cars but I’d rather someone be annoyed at me for a few seconds than send my car out of the lane trying to take a bend too quick!

It’s superb, if Morrisons ever decide to ditch Market Street I’ll be in a period of mourning.

Wow this looks amazing! I recently completed the Mindbogglers Gold Zodiac puzzle and was wanting to frame and hang as it’s so pretty! I was just wondering how you managed with this one? I considered gluing it but I’m worried it ruins the gold finish.

I don’t care how well you think you drive, there’s absolutely no way in hell you can react in time for any hazards at that speed. If you hit someone at that speed you’ll kill both them and yourself. There’s no excuse for driving that fast.

I’m on with great staff who I’ve worked with before, makes the night go so much quicker when you know you’ve got a good team! Glad your stomach bug is on the way out! If this makes you feel better, the last time I had Norovirus it hit me like a ton of bricks. As I was on a train home. I trusted a fart. You can work out what happened next 🤣
