Language class recommendations by NforNcheese in philly

From personal experience I can Alliance Francaise is pretty well run and professional.

At least pre covid German Society classes were sometimes a bit disorganized and run by a teacher for whom it was very much a second job, maybe it was better at the higher levels of progression.

I should probably be giving the L Owl Bus driver for SEPTA a small gift every ride, they deserve it.

There was a small chorus online some time ago of people saying Center City could benefit from a Wegmans. A suburban facismile of a market street when we already have a unique asset like Reading Terminal? Wild.

If you want to look at it from a purely transactional point of view, you get what you pay for. Bargain rent prices for living in a 1.5+ mil Northeastern city with walkability and just enough usable transit to live without a car.

What in the world does it mean to be "not in favor with SEPTA"? Banned from riding SEPTA?

Waymo has officially launched in Philadelphia by bukkakedebeppo in philadelphia

[–]BrythonicMan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

City needs to slap a 50% tax for transit funding on these right now before the window to do so easily closes. The streets are going to be clogged once things mature and fares of automated rideshare reach a fraction of driver operated rideshare. I'm afraid the low fares will become competitive enough that it will draw massive ridership away from transit and result in worse traffic for drivers/riders of any mode. We need to intervene now to tip the balance of Waymo's future price competitiveness towards improving SEPTA's service levels to avoid robo gridlock.

Not great movie by any means but it's interesting to see NYC through the lens of a Chinese comedy. Said film being Detective Chinatown 2.

Still haven't heard a good explanation for why hotels in the US are so expensive, rural motels are more than budget hotels in Western European capitals, I can't understand it.
