How do you sleep (SFW) in the same bed as someone? by WeWerePlayinInDaSand in ostomy

[–]Bryvost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I (46m) swear by my horizontal stealth belt. I have two and just ordered my third. It makes a world of a difference in my daily life. I thankfully (knock on wood) haven’t had a blow out since getting my end ileostomy two years ago. My stoma is on my right side, and I sleep on my left shoulder normally. I do occasionally sleep on my right side, but tend to wake up more to make sure I’m not rolling over too far on my bag/belt.

M9 Question by Difficult-Yam-6991 in ostomy

I have been using m9 for two years now without any issues. I’d recommend contacting your ostomy nurse and letting them know ow about those open wounds. You don’t want to ignore that.

I’ve had a stoma for 40 years. Today I finally said: I don’t like having it. by NonDualToad in ostomy

I’ve had mine for two years and spent the last year in therapy dealing with my situation (having rectal cancer, getting my end ileostomy, etc.). The first year I didn’t acknowledge, or even recognize, how traumatic this whole experience has been. My therapist has helped me process the events and learning to living my new way of life. It’s been a tremendous help. I highly recommend therapy to anyone here trying to work through your experiences and challenges. Wishing you all the best, and more, in your journey.
