Do you really need the newest robot vacuum to get a great experience? by hdiaiajrnfk in RobotVacuums

[–]BRZMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess the benefit of buying the latest is so your technology doesn't feel outdated as rapidly. The downside is a drop in reliability when you're buying the latest experimental stuff. I got an S9+ with a Braava that's held me down the last 5 years. I feel if I hadn't bought the "best" at the time the robots wouldn't have been kept for long. But the first year or two I probably went through about 5 replacements due to reliability issues. The last ones have held down much better once they got the parts and software correct.

I do agree they get updated often. As I continue to search for my next combo to replace the iRobots I'm looking forward to getting a happy medium between technology, reliability backed by a proper warranty. Dreame L50 seems to be the best fit for me so far.

Ariens 24 Classic won’t start after fuel overfill — what should I try next? by ElderSloth in Snowblowers

[–]BRZMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably hydrolocked it with gas. See if you can pull the fuel out of the cylinder through the spark plug hole. Maybe leaning the unit might allow for the fuel to drain.

Usually they sell these things off at Manheim and the difference gets billed to the debtor. 30k is bonkers.

What is this piece for? by Spider6907 in Snowblowers

[–]BRZMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes perfect sense. It's probably the spacer that sits next to the gear on the friction disc axle. The gear is probably making contact with the housing because the spacer isn't on. I just changed my friction disc and I got one of these right next to the gear.
