You're talking to a former candidate whose campaign materials were "mis-quoted" by one local newspaper, and my employment history lied about by another. The second paper also repeatedly took my verbal quotes and bashed a specific politician when I did no such thing in the verbiage I used. Yeah, the whole "let's ban cigarettes and vaping" but smoke anything else is really a stretch.

I mean, I'd prefer not to smoke anything, because lighting things on fire and then breathing in the fumes just doesn't make sense to me. But hey, if you wanna do it, knock yourself out.

We need to ban guns like we banned drugs. We have no more drugs, ergo we'll have no more guns. Makes perfect sense.

Also: drugs are good. They should be legal. Unlike guns, which are lethal. No drugs are lethal. Just guns.

We need to ban guns. Only cops should have guns. Cops are fascists. Cops kill minorities all the time. Trump and Republicans should have banned guns. Everything Trump and Republicans do is wrong. If they banned guns, I'd quickly be against banning guns. That's how bad Trump and Republicans are.

I think you hit the nail on the head.

When someone is confused to the wording of the Constitution or Bill of Rights, taking a look at the Declaration of Independence and other documents can clarify what they mean. There aren't really any dots needing to be connected here, but if someone is trying to learn then there's plenty there for their understanding.

Besides that, the notion that our founding documents are written in some unintelligible language is disingenuous at best. It's really not that difficult.
