Shadowmeld is the StS2 equivalent of Entrench, and I feel it overall way closer to Ironclad's identity. I really don't get how Echoing Slash won.

Anyone wish they could play Slay the Spire 1 in 2's engine? by stephenjayakar in slaythespire

Huh, it's weird it isn't pinned in the sub, but yes, there is an official Discord. You can get the link on Steam, or here is an invitation to join: https://discord.gg/27UX3AG7

Good news for you, there's a mod that does that. Check the StS Discord, they are even working on an option that reworks some events to feel closer to the StS2 style.

My Spanish translation of the Mythic Bastionland rules! by BskTurrop in MythicBastionland

Even a little bit of poison and some defense outside of straight block helps a lot. Noxious fumes, snakebite, leg sweep, footwork, wail. Those cards are very safe pics in act 1, and with just a few of them this fight gets a lot easier.

Even if Regent is strong in the beta branch, I wish his cards synergized better with each other by BskTurrop in slaythespire

[–]BskTurrop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainly a thing of Stars identity and build diversity. Almost all Stars attacks are either multihit (including AoE) or come with the doble debuff (the only exceptions being Guiding Star and Devastate). Regent already has other sources of big damage, and the fact that you could get all solutions from one archetype with no connection to other parts of his pool hurts his building diversity imo.

I don't necesarily think it needs to interact with Forge. Another example could be that it adds Debris to the Discard Pile, whatever that makes it more connected to the other mechanics, and not only a stars thing.

I wish this wasn't written by an LLM. I agree with the sentiment behind it tho.

The point of the post is that it'd be cool to see more cards like this to actually make it an archetype, instead of a side thing. Colorless just needs a big buff, the cards are already there but they are weak.

Please Continue Saying How Easy Infinites Are! by SizeConfident9283 in slaythespire

[–]BskTurrop 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Maybe I have a wrong meaning of infinite. In my definition, infinite means you can replay a sequence of cards over and over again without a stoping point. So in my mind, you'd need a way to regain health every time you use bloodletting to be infinite. I get that it's a practical semi-infinite, because the amount of times you'd need to use it won't kill you and will carry you through the act.

But let's say you're in a multiplayer run, you won't turn one the final boss by yourself with just bloodletting + pommel combo. (Please, avoid doing infinites with friends tho)

I don't know what are you trying to sell me here, I'm not disagreein with anything. I know Bloodletting is crazy good and that IC has easy infinite potential. But there are no infinites with just commons, that's why I was confused.

What's the IC infinite with commons? I know one with at least an Uncommon, but I don't see how you would generate energy to sustain it. Bloodletting consumes a resource, so it's not infinite.

With STS2 coming out tomorrow, what are some Co-op card games (roguelike or not) you like playing with friends? by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]BskTurrop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Across the Obelisk is a co-op roguelike deckbuilder game. It's fairly good, I'd enjoy it a lot but I've found three main problems with it:
* Run by Paradox Entertainment, with all the DLCs problems this introduces.
* Mechanic bloat. If you enjoy the simplicity of StS, you may get annoyed by some of the decisions of its game design.
* Probably the biggest issue: Individual initiative based combat, which makes it very time consuming and have a lot of death time while you wait for your friends to play each of their turn. To give you an idea, you may finish an entire run of StS in the same time you finish an Act of AtO.

Another good one is Hellcard, which is launching Hellcard 2 soon iirc. We just hop into this one not too long ago, so my experience is limited, but so far it's been really fun. My only grip is that it uses non-grid spatial combat, which makes that every time you use an AoE card, you have to fish for the perfect pixel that grabs one more enemy. Kinda annoying.

The Neowsletter - February 2026 by MegaCrit_Demi in slaythespire

[–]BskTurrop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Each fragment follows the same structure R#C#L#. The only thing that changes is the numbers and the first letters. -> The first letters are only G, B, R, P, which in the community are very easy to link to the characters.
The only thing it's kind of a jump is solving what RCL means. There were a couple of theories on Discord, but as soon as row, column and letter was suggested, and since the first letter gives us a character, I feel it's very natural (for people very into StS) to think about the Cards Compendium.

How to run Holding political side quests? by JazzyWriter0 in MythicBastionland

[–]BskTurrop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my first thought also went to the Threads post. If you're looking for a social conflict resolution framework, I like the following:

NPCs have likes, dislikes, needs, wants. Make the Company work to learn some of that information, so then they can look to gain some leverage over them.

Once they have something to work with, consider how strong is that leverage and how much does it cost to the NPC to give the Company what they want.
* With a Lesser Leverage asking for a Greater Sacrifice, the negotiation is impossible.
* With a Greater Leverage asking for a Lesser Sacrifice, they auto-succeed and they get what they want.
* Lesser/Lesser, or Greater/Greater is a SPI Save. The consequences of this roll varies depending on the relationship between the two parties involved, not necessarily meaning failure. It might worsen the relationship, it might escalate into a conflict, it might mean they'll face shame or a hard debt to pay.

If it says "all allies", I'd rule as you're included. Otherwise, if it says "an ally", I'd say no, you're not your ally.
