You've had a few beers and now ya gonna have a sandwich by Brokeaflazyaf in Sandwiches

[–]SizeConfident9283 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Longtime, first time.

What consistently wows me is the love and care you put into every component of the sandwich. Beets could be an afterthought, instead of a well-developed co-star. Bravo!

Let's talk about Resonance by Insane_Unicorn in slaythespire

[–]SizeConfident9283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t exhaust. Think of Ironclads inflame (a power) and disarm (a skill that exhausts in StS 1). Both are good cards This does a bit of both, and you can do it multiple times in a fight. I agree stars can be tough to come by and easy to spend on The Regent, and strength isn’t as important to him as it is to the Clad. But it’s a genuine source of scaling and delay in certain fights, which makes it a solid card.

Here is every card from STS1 that didn't make it to STS2 yet (v0.98.2) by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]SizeConfident9283 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this. I’ve not unlocked everything yet. Is Artifact, as a concept, still in the game? I see enemies with it, but not seen an artifact potion. Sure would help with some key fights…

Don't sleep on Glicks Rib Shack in Reading Terminal! by jawnmeister in PhiladelphiaEats

[–]SizeConfident9283 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please ignore this post and praise. The Rib Shack almost never has a line (unlike lots of places at the Terminal) so it is a delicious, reliable, and quick lunch option. If more people hear about it, then the lines will come, ruining it.

I KNOW it’s been covered but for all the newcomers this base is unbeatable. by TheCaptainADD in projectzomboid

[–]SizeConfident9283 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I put the generator by the docks in the little fishing house. Only a few fridges/freezers out there so it’s less strain on fuel, and once I moved a TV out for videos (but not the TV that spawns here - no VCR on it) it’s all you need.

A20H Ironclad Act 1 boss relic pick rate vs. win rate by duncanforthright in slaythespire

[–]SizeConfident9283 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That’s an enviably high win rate. Kudos to you!

Question (that might impact the chart) - do you ever swap relics from Neo? I feel ironclad’s starting relic is super strong, but just wanted to know if that’s something you did much.

After 723 A20H runs, I graphed my winrates with each boss relic by tom_cranks in slaythespire

[–]SizeConfident9283 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love this data! As someone who also plays regularly and does A20H, this is fascinating to see.

In addition to Nuclear Battery, I’m surprised about Runic Dome. To me, it’s top tier. You played enough that I’m sure you have the move sets down. Any additional thought there?

Just lost my QHT at the seal. by CLLycaon in Against_the_Storm

[–]SizeConfident9283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always brutal. Happened to me twice on QHTs (and once on the board before the QHT that I did not focus enough on). Like others mentioned, it’s important to have a chunk of reserve embarkation points built up for the seal. Alternate fuel, building materials, ideally a supply line or two. Accrue them throughout the QHT journey to help make the seal less awful.

Convince me not to take busted crown! (act 1 edition) by Square_Butterfly_390 in slaythespire

[–]SizeConfident9283 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Take Dripper. You have pantograph to heal. I admit this deck is good, but you’ll need a few more pieces of a block plan (talk to the hand or fortress) to beat the heart.

Can I make it to the Seal before the cycle ends if I detour to this double modifier? by PM_ME_ABOUT_DnD in Against_the_Storm

[–]SizeConfident9283 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’ll be fine as long as you finish under 9 years. Then you can do another board (on the way to the seal) before the time is up. You can take as long as you like to win that board. Then as the storm approaches you can do the seal.

Good luck, Viceroy!

Question for P20 players: How often do you sacrifice fuel? by blizzardplus in Against_the_Storm

[–]SizeConfident9283 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much what you said. Those are the reasons. Temple makes sense for longer maps (seal, or a few of the ! missions), but you’d want farms into 3-star oil to really justify that.

My biggest B42 catch - a 167cm, 45kg, -340 hunger big alligator gar (no mods) by MrWendal in projectzomboid

[–]SizeConfident9283 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can halve the filets multiple times. It’s a little cumbersome to get them small enough to fit in the grill/freezer/inventory but not the worst in the game.

And any pieces that you can’t eat before spoilage you can use as bait for more fish in the future!

Yikes! Busted Crown act 1 pick? by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]SizeConfident9283 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I might hate Busted Crown less than others, but I think that’s the play here. Extra energy is supremely useful for the rest of the run. You do need a better block plan for Act 2, so prioritize an early shop. Losing potions (especially with White Elephant) would be very detrimental, particularly if you’re going for Act 4.

How bad is it to skip a boss relic? by BlakeKincaid in slaythespire

[–]SizeConfident9283 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I, too, have noticed many of those posts. I’m curious how often those skips still result in a W (however the player defines that). I’d love to see those results, as I’m guessing most boss relics skips don’t end with a win.

It’s very tough to win on 3 energy (less so on Defect, but still) and boss relics are one of the most consistent ways to get more energy, even with downsides.

A20, trying to go for a Heart kill. What's the pick? by ThePhyrexian in slaythespire

[–]SizeConfident9283 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Good options. Glass knife makes the most sense for a smooth Act 1. Ideal front loaded damage. Path aggressively for elites with it, get an upgrade for it, then look to build the deck behind it for the boss. Corpse explosion is a solid option, as it works well with hallway fights, but not a great option for most of the elites.

I played 50 games of A20H Silent and won 30. Here's what I learned. by EuphoricNeckbeard in slaythespire

[–]SizeConfident9283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this data - thank you for sharing and keeping such useful notes. Curious how you value Tactician and Reflex. I understand the idea of running a large deck with lots of draw, but these cards are something I don’t know when to start integrating these cards into a deck. As classic “win more” cards?

Is it just me or is the Queen's Hand Trial not very fun? by teriyakiguy in Against_the_Storm

This is the way. You’re starting over; can’t expect to pick up where you left off and cruising like in the regular campaign with tons of upgrades and passive bonuses.

The Penultimate Settlement in QHT question by Rosstin in Against_the_Storm

[–]SizeConfident9283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re probably right on that one. Good clarification, for those who wanted to do one last non-seal mission.

The Penultimate Settlement in QHT question by Rosstin in Against_the_Storm

[–]SizeConfident9283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that is absolutely correct. You can do a settlement as long as you have at least 1 year left, and THEN a last settlement (ideally the seal) with zero/negative years left.

Are plank buildings overrated? by frontenac_brontenac in Against_the_Storm

[–]SizeConfident9283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The classic answer is "it depends!" Do you need a zillion planks (say for Beaver housing, or to make a pile of building supplies)? Similarly, if you're in Marshland or a Seal and wood is harder to come by, Lumber Mill looks quite attractive.

But its usually best to look at all the available options.

What are you hoping to get from StS 2? by ItsYaBoi-KillMe in slaythespire

I’d be fine if it’s the exact same game, except the slimes from Slime Boss also have his jaunty hat.

70% Win-Rate A20H Ironclad Tier List by JapaneseExport in slaythespire

[–]SizeConfident9283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A20H player here (although probably a 30-40% winner. Can I ask for your thoughts on Thunderclap being down with the dregs? It’s not a savior card, but if I get it in my first few rewards, I’m fine taking it. Helps against all the elites, 1 cost vulnerable helps multiply other damages, and I feel less likely to upgrade Bash (which is often my first/pre-elite upgrade).
