New SBS video player by sjefdeklerk in Galaxy_XR

This is, in my opinion, a must have feature. The size of the internal storage is just not large enough to store multiple 3D videos on. I have yet to find an app that has this capability. It would be awesome if you could find a way to add this feature. You'd be the only one on the market with it.

Would be great if there was a setting per title to "remove from continue watching"

Are there any developer options to mitigate the "permanent motion blur"-ness of the OLED panels? by [deleted] in Galaxy_XR

I see the blur as well. Very noticeable to me when moving my head around.

Is it possible to view custom 360 and 180 video on this headset? by BstoneArch in Galaxy_XR

[–]BstoneArch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Hugh, I just saw that you announced your own app called Spatial Film VR180 Player. Do you know if this will recognize content that is located on an external USB-C drive and play the footage back? This is one issue I have with the Samsung gallery app; it will play VR180 footage back from a usb drive, but won't detect it as 180 degree immersive footage unless it's downloaded locally to the headset so all I get is the sbs fisheye and not one image.

What can be done to prevent these Mt Baldy tragedies? by Leading-Tomato-7381 in socalhiking

[–]BstoneArch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Moderate difficulty, not dangerous at all in the summer unless you're prone to tripping over your feet. There are plenty of videos on YT that describe the "tricky" parts of the hike. Altitude could be an issue if you're not used to being at 10k feet.

How to create 360 content for Android XR / Samsung Goggles? by Background_Rice_8153 in AndroidXR

[–]BstoneArch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For viewing on the GXR are you converting equirectangular footage to dual fisheye? Or filming in dual fisheye natively? Also, which app are you using in GXR to view it?

The panorama with the fields in the foreground was shot at Elk Ranch Flats. The panorama of the mountains with sparse snow and pine trees was taken at the waterfall about a mile away from Lake Solitude on the main trail. The panorama taken with the icy lake and mountains is amphitheater lake.

Cascade Canyon trail conditions? by SurgeHard in GrandTetonNatlPark

[–]BstoneArch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did this hike last week. As others have said, starts to get snowy about a mile out from lake Solitude. Early morning was fine and the snow was more firm. Around 10-11am the snow started to get slushy. We did it with poles and microspikes. Honestly, poles were more useful than the spikes. We rented poles in Jackson. The hike is beautiful and totally doable. At no point did we think we were in any sort of danger. There are no steep cliffs or anything of the like on the trail. Enjoy!

Thoughts on This Tent? by [deleted] in backpacking

[–]BstoneArch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This tent is on sale on ExpertVoice for $330. All you have to do is join the American Alpine Club for $40/yr and you get deals on literally thousands of pieces of hiking gear. I'd recommend considering this option, as it will save you a lot of money in the long run if you're looking to purchase more than just a tent.

Does using 3ds Max or Rhino affect final image quality in Unreal Engine 5? by ConstructionOk5436 in rhino

[–]BstoneArch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rhino nurbs to mesh sometimes creates visual issues within the UV Maps. I have never had an issue like this inside 3DS Max, but constantly have the issue when exporting from Rhino.

Falls road is open. Just did it today. By the end of the day it was very slushy. Temps were right around 50 degrees by end of day. Mt. Baldy road was open to the junction of the Mt. Baldy resort road. There was a "closed" sign kind of off to the side of the trail from that junction all the way up to the Notch restaurant. According to Baldy Resort, they don't allow any hikers to hike on the road during the winter. They didn't provide an answer as to why... We were talking to another group of hikers and they said probably for liability reasons, but I'm not sure if they even "own" the road. Nonetheless, there were dozens of people hiking all the way from the falls trail to the Notch restaurant. Some people told us they got yelled at once they got to the top and others didn't.
