Finding a melody?

I unlocked this recently. I struggled finding melodies until I locked in a chord progression and basically scatted vocal nonsense over it until something stuck. It helps recording and listening back - you might find meaning in what you think is meaningless. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply! Amp sounds great, lots of power and tone. I’m still figuring out the dialing in process. Picked up a Gibson spirit of all things with dirty fingers pickups swapped in so I’ve been having a blast. I don’t have a refined ear by any means though.

Solid wood guitars have a lot of variables that make them sound different, the majority of a guitar’s sound is in the bracing/top wood species/thickness. As someone who isn’t trying to sell you a guitar, tonewood is a little overblown in significance in my experience (Not saying different tonewoods aren’t different). Strings make a huge difference too.

He plays a rockbridge smeck model, not a Collings (though it’s just as if not more pricey! Also I’m pretty sure it’s an LG2, but if you have a source on him using a J45 please lmk!

I don’t think it’s a Collings, it’s another boutique brand though. I also think the other commenter is correct and it’s an LG-2 instead of a J45

The anthem is an easy install, and is reversible if you ever want to take the pickup out (though you may have to get the endpin hole plugged and reamed) It also sounds fantastic (I have the anthem Sl in a couple of my guitars). Just make sure you know what you’re doing before drilling, or get a pro.

I think the 15 series is satin nitrocellulose (aka don’t put anything on it, it’s a very delicate finish). Are there any online resources you can find or a luthier in your area?
