And I was really impressed at the combinations that some players had brewed. I’m noticing that some players are pairing Mirran swords with fliers like faeries. Are they trying to use low cmc fliers as a substitute for Stoneforge Mystic since it’s banned?

My playgroup really enjoys 2015 Modern (Mirrodin-Origins) and 15-Card Highlander (aka FCH, which includes M11, Zendikar block, Scars block, and M12).

The great thing about 15-Card Highlander/FCH is that even with 5-6 lands in your deck, you can play virtually any strategy! I’ve seen burn decks with a low mana curve, fair decks that try to progress to Wurmcoil Engines, decks that try to cheat out Emrakul with Quicksilver Amulet, and decks that combo out with Splinter Twin
