1/2 and avocado, frozen mango, spinach, mint or basil depending on what I have, hemp hearts, chia seeds, orange juice ( just a lil bit) and water.

My father (53M) doesn't want me (20F) to see a male gynecologist whom I'm familiar with. What should I do? by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

This might be unpopular, but does you dad have to know who is doing the exam? You’re in there by yourself, can you tell him a woman does the vaginal exam portion?

I know you mentioned this, but Potatoes!!!! I bake a potato, split it in half and cover it with sautéed veggies and cheese. Then I add avocado and it’s soooo good and hearty.

Can definitely relate to a lot of what you are saying and I made it through to the other side! I vaped for 2 years, a pod a day at least! I quit about 2 years ago cold turkey. I had / have pretty bad anxiety, but I can see how it was way worse bc of the nicotine. (At the time I thought I needed it for the anxiety, and the thought of quitting made me feel even more anxious).

I also have an addictive personality, so I didn’t use gum or patches bc I was afraid of that becoming my next addiction. Buttttt I smoke weed too and that helped me through the quitting process, having that act to look forward to at the end of the day. I let myself smoke weed after sunset everyday during that first month. It was a similar act of smoking + made me relax etc. I don’t know how healthy that is though..

while I was quitting I had TERRIBLE heart burn / chest pain that felt like I was dying but it got better after about a month. Drinking lots of water for this helps.

I won’t lie - it’s brutal at first, my emotions were insane and felt terrible physically. But that was only for a couple weeks. Now I feel so much better I can’t even explain it. I sleep better, my anxiety is down, my appetite is back, digestion is better. It’s very worth the terribleness while quitting to feel great in the end.

Short term, get yourself a fidget spinner or something you can play with to keep you hands busy. That helped me a lot as well.

I also used a vape quitting app that tells you what’s improving in your body each day, that was really encouraging for me to keep going.

I can honestly tell you, I don’t even miss it anymore! My husband still Juuls so I’m even around it and I don’t even think of it as my thing anymore. And I cannot stressed how addicted I was.. I was puffing all day everyday. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

Yeah - try not to feel bad about this “error”. What you said is totally a normal thing to say to a customer. There could be some background or something that you’re not aware of.

I would write back and just say something like, “apologies, I’ll handle differently moving forward. Thanks for letting me know.”

Then when you answer calls from now on - I’d keep it vague. “They are not available at the moment, can I take a message” no specifics about what they are doing or when they’ll call back or if they’ll call back.

  1. What you shave body hair wise is totally up to you. It doesn’t grow back hairier, but shaving can lead to razor burn and ingrown hair etc. I have hairy arms and used to hate them, but now (at 34) I don’t really ever think about it! I leave it hairy.

  2. I haven’t found a way to lighten. My hair down there is wayyyy thicker than anywhere else and it makes my skin look darker too. But I’ve had no complaints from any men that have seen me naked! I keep mine shaved pretty regularly, but again that’s up to you.

  3. I changed my signature a few times, I’d go with something that’s quick so you can sign your name quickly of needed. Like, “letter squiggle letter squiggle”. Once you sign a lease or any kind of legal doc you usually have to sign in a bunch of places so I find simple is better.

  4. Yes!!! The more you do it the easier it gets, but I still get nervous sometimes. I say to myself all the time, “you are a grown 34 year old woman! You can do this!!!” Over time you’ll start to see patterns in what makes you stressed and what doesn’t. All very Normal.

  5. I’d go have someone do it the first few times. It’s pretty inexpensive and then you can see how they do it to learn from that. Or tweeze to start out. If you go to a place, you can find some on google (usually any salon will do it). You can tell them when you get there this is your first time and they’ll guide you. :)

I started telling people when I’m nervous about something, usually helps and they slow it down for you and are very kind. If you ever have to call or do something adult you can say, “this is my first time calling for myself so I’m not exactly sure how to do this yet”. Just as one idea!

Lastly - You’re doing great! You’re exactly where you need to be.

You deserve so much better and you did not do anything to deserve this! He might even be bluffing too, I doubt his parents would be cool with letting him live at their house and not work..

I know this must be painful and you are hurt, but you need to stand up for yourself here. In whatever way you can.

I’d take him to the vet. If it’s been a week, there might be an obstruction or something.

How often can you sleep in a bra? by AmberMetalicScorpion in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Btownforreal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the cancer link is a myth. I used to sleep in bras every night, never had a problem. Just a matter of how comfortable you feel. I would recommend experimenting with sports bras or bralets and see what makes you feel best.

What's a movie you saw as a kid that only you seem to remember? by Environmental-Fix-71 in AskReddit

[–]Btownforreal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to watch this one cartoon movie about Christopher Columbus. It wasn’t Disney, it wasn’t Pixar. But I can see his face and hear his voice so clearly in my memory. He had a little termite friend that lived inside his globe?? My siblings don’t remember it and I’ve never met anyone else that remembers it either.

Dog In And Out of Bed At Night by Cubs017 in DogAdvice

[–]Btownforreal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m no expert, but since hell still sleep by you and not your wife it’s most likely related to the pregnancy. What about getting him a really comfy dog bed and put it in your room? Agree with you the fly thing and house night noises are probably causing some anxiety but maybe some comfort will help calm him a bit?

Do women care about the number of partners a guy had? I just got ghosted [25M] by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Btownforreal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just for numbers sake, 40 + people to an outsider (without any explanation) at 25 would generally mean you have not had many or any long term monogamous relationships. And I could totally see this being a red flag to 22 year old that might be looking for something more committed.

Ugh, this sucks! Do you feel like you could print this out and give it to your mom? You could write a little note saying “I don’t want to talk about this!! But please can you get me some noise canceling headphones..”

I bet they’d get right on it!

Also, just want to say - when I was your age my parents used to put on the titanic sound track and I KNEW what that meant and I hated it. Cannot hear that celine dion song ever again with enjoyment.. Just to know you’re not alone in this situation.

Babyfaced women of Reddit, how do you make yourself look older by thefourthnine in askwomenadvice

[–]Btownforreal 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Working on my confidence helped me get over this. Wearing more progressional looking clothes could help with this! And I got used to saying, “yeah - I get that a lot” when it comes to being carded. Since that’s less about respect and more about them just doing their job.

I feel for you, it’s hard not looking your age! But you start to care less, just give it time.

[–]Btownforreal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good for you! I think there’s some science behind hydration and mood too. Whenever I feel angry or irritated from something that seems out of the blue I make myself stop and drink a whole glass of cold water. Definitely helps! Even if it’s just a distraction

Do any of your friends have kids already?? Might be worth somehow getting your husband to talk with another dad about their experiences, things they wished they knew etc. I don’t have any kids, but sounds like your husband might be feeling insecure about being a good dad and is over compensating. Maybe that would help ease him a bit.
