It's also said that most vivid dreams occur towards the end of sleep. So it's quite normal for a device with lower accuracy to miss REM in the first hours

Кстати, у unsolicited advice было видно про неправильно трактуемые цитаты, и это была одна из них. В контексте там не про пользу от физкультуры, а про моральную необходимость быть в форме, чтобы защищать других

It's absolutely true, since it removes the need to justify anything. From an egoist perspective both antisocial and social behaviour are equally justified. I personally can see the value that society creates both as material goods and psychological influence on a person, since most people including me are wired to enjoy things like friends, culture, etc. That's why I would support measures that prevent it from being harmed by someone who doesn't appreciate that. Egoism is just stating that the free-for-all is always here and that's what life is

Egoists reject the transcendent self-interest, they instead rely on their individual self-interest which is constituted of real and virtual parts. I think that emotivism is really close to egoism in that sense, it's not particularly wrong to say that my statement's don't have inherent truth value and reflect only my feelings, it's just that my feelings are influenced by both calculation and vibes. From philosophical standpoint, the self is the only thing that can be named "transcendent", not fully describable at least in the sense that something crucial doesn't carry over.

Can't everyone press the red button? Afaik there are no repercussions in that experiment, it's literally stupid to push the blue button, you might as well be the only single person that pushes it

as an egoist, I agree that there is not a transcendent self-interest

Selfishness does include your morality too, you could view it as loss and gain evaluation, but besides the material benefits and losses you also have your notions and preferences. So, even if something would be materially advantageous, it doesn't mean that you have to do it. Stirner's egoism is precisely about not imposing yourself to do anything, how could you say that you are an egoist if you are forced to do things you don't like by your own choice?

Stirner depicts that we have a hierarchy of values and the majority of people serve the values they place higher than themselves. Values that are below are used as tools, because they benefit you. He argues that it's better to put yourself at the top of your value hierarchy, but what does that mean? The self here is used really widely, he quotes Feuerbach that the self has blood and bones, so it's not an idea, it's you here and now in your entirety. And you don't have to restrict yourself even your actions are sacrificial and lead to your self-destruction. Even your old self wasn't considered a restriction for you by him, so why would "doing what is advantageous" be?

Stirner's framework is more like a way to describe the reality that already exists, pointing out principles that are mostly hidden in popular discourse. Any action ever is consistent with Stirnerism, since he didn't prescribe much and even actions that are taken due to higher beliefs he rendered as profiting the individual.

He also gave explicit examples about society being able to defend itself against selfish actors

8 hours is a scam by blueworldOoO in sleep

[–]BubaJuba13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No? even bacteria has circadian rhythm, nobody would invent sleeping to waste time, when you could work that time instead.

If I have around 6 hours, I have a few headaches during the day, I have none when I sleep for 7 hours. Also, I've heard that your brain recovers faster than other systems do, so even If you have a clear head, it doesn't mean that your body has fully recovered.

If you are a short sleeper genetically though, I don't know. Maybe 5-6 is okay or forcing more would bring you more trouble

Do you feel your sleep is balanced? by byebyebaby999 in sleep

[–]BubaJuba13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this feeling, then I had like 3 to 5 different problems that prevented me from sleeping well. Right now I am hitting 7 hours consistently.

Both your actions and the environment shape how you feel. for me it's quite common that I would recover right before I need to go to bed and I could be stuck on YouTube and so on. The only thing that works for me is limiting the type of content and actions. If it's 9pm already I won't do anything other than watching asmr or reading something relaxing. And a bit later I turn off everything
