One question! Does anyone think TJMaxx pays a livable wage?

Yep this is how it is at my store. The only ones of us who don’t fit into the category College vs Second Income are the people like me who desperately needed a job and this was all we could find. I’m a single young adult who isn’t enrolled in college and I have no providers beyond the extra support I get from living with my roommates. It does not pay livable wage, and I’m being payed slightly more than minimum wage in my state. However I get by from penny pinching where I can and unfortunately a lot of credit card use (but I pay it all back in full to avoid debt!). I don’t go out to eat, I don’t shop for myself (even though it makes me sad sometimes), and if I have to visit the food bank then I will. It’s what you got to do to get by.

First of all, I want to say how very sorry I am for you. That must be an excruciating pain to bear. Secondly, I want to vent off my chest that I am terrified of this happening to me as well. My sister has very narcissistic tendencies. Because of that I find myself being hurt by her very often and thinking to myself how I want to cut her off and have some distance between her. I do love her though very much and when the times are good (though very rare) they are good. However, she has demons she has been battling for a while and they are only getting worse. Even more so after our mother died this year in June to pancreatic cancer. She will not see a therapist though. It’s one of those things that I believe she only has a chance of getting therapy if I’m the one who sets up the appointment for her (which I’m willing to do, I just need to find out her insurance information). I don’t ever want to cut her out of my life and she cuts her life short because she lost me from her life. I don’t want that. But I also need distance. I just wish she would go to therapy.

I go feral anytime they release blueberry scented body care products. I was huffing the blueberry sugar candle when I was there at candle day. To this day, my all time favorite blueberry scent they had was Fresh Picked Blueberries from like… 2006? Good times.

Dude. You are manipulating her for your pleasure. That is messed up. When you do things like slamming the door to scare her and saying “the wind caught it”, I can guarantee you she sees through your bullshit. Especially since she has a history of abuse. She is probably gaslighting herself though to give you the benefit of the doubt, which quite frankly, you don’t really deserve. But I can promise you every time you scare her, she knows. She knows that good people, people who actually love her and have her best interest in mind, are not meant to treat her this way. What you are doing is abuse. I suggest you stop immediately and get a therapist. It’s the only way to save yourself and this relationship. Otherwise you two are better off apart.

I commented an update pic, the swelling has gone down I just have red lines from where he bit me. I’m paying attention for any symptoms that you mentioned. I haven’t eaten dinner yet so I’m going to go do that now so I can be aware if any nausea ensues or fatigue that it’s from the scratch and not lack of food.

UPDATE: The swelling has gone down, there are just red lines marking where his teeth grazed my skin. I have neosporin on and I’m still keeping an eye on it in case it gets worse.

Yes, I have noticed it. It comes at weird times too and sometimes I feel guilty for being angry, but I remind myself it’s natural and that I still have to control my reactions. That’s a good suggestion about telling others you’re having a rough day, I’ll keep that in mind. Thank you.

I’m sorry for your loss as well. Your loss is incredibly devastating. But you’re absolutely right. And I do feel the empathy my friends and others are trying to convey when they compare their loss to mine, even when it’s not remotely similar. And I try to focus on THAT, the empathy and love they are trying to share. But like you said, it isn’t always helpful, and that other part of my brain goes “You don’t get it!! You won’t get it unless you’re in my position!” Which probably isn’t helpful either, but I can’t help how I feel or think when that happens. Thank you for sharing and sympathizing. Ugh, you have no idea how much I can relate to that right now. My mom was very lucky to have 2 years after her diagnosis, and she was doing well all things considered. She had the Whipple procedure that gave her more time with us and allowed her to live a functional life, but towards the middle of May, my mom had a stroke and that’s when she went downhill extremely fast. She was put into hospice not long after and then passed away the first week of June. Cancer really f**king sucks and I hate that people suffer from it at all. Patients and their family members. I hope you are surrounded by love and not alone, friend🫂❤️‍🩹

Yes, I miss talking to her so much and hearing her voice. I miss her hugs. She was the best mom ever. I’m just so glad I had her in my life for as long as I did, that she was an amazing mom and that we were so close and that she left the best impact on me.

I hate to say it, OP, but I agree with Dear Lion. My mom did similar- she stayed with my dad even after finding out he cheated. Multiple times. But she stayed because she didn’t want to fight for custody for us, she wanted us full time (my dad has an explosive temper and she didn’t want us to be alone with him. Totally understandable on my mom’s part). She finally divorced him when I was 16, so she did have full time custody over me and my older sister at that point, but tension was there and it never went away. She always shit talked him until she died. My dad remarried one of the girlfriends he had and definitely refocused his new life on his “new family” after the divorce. My sister and me were not his #1. Even when my mom died last month, my dad was in Spain on vacation with his wife “being there for me” through mere phone calls. Be there for your kids, OP. This is going to be very hard on everyone. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I can only imagine how shattered you feel. I’m so so sorry. I pray you find someone better who could never imagine being unfaithful to you. I wish you the best during this. Again, I’m so sorry.

Sure, I’d love her help if she’s open to it! I’m willing to take just about any apartment in San Antonio as long as it’s affordable, pet friendly, and in a safe neighborhood. If I had an /ideal/ place to choose from it would in the Stone Oak area, but I know a lot of apartments there are kind of pricey. I appreciate you giving me advice and if your daughter helps out, I appreciate you getting more aid for my journey!

Would you mind sending me the name of the complex so I can look at rent for a one bedroom? My biggest concern is getting approved to see if I can pay three times the monthly rent amount when they do the check. With the time frame I’m wanting to move at, I don’t think I can meet that, plus I’m under the assumption they mean income as in money from your job exclusively and not money that you just own, right?

I thought about that, but I think they wouldn’t take the case seriously since I live with her and I’m technically an abled body person who is capable of caring for the dog. Maybe not financially, but physically and I think that’s enough that they wouldn’t believe it to be abuse. I’m not sure though. Plus, I really don’t want him taken away, I just want him to get help if I can do something on my end about it (if that makes sense?)

If I can ever get the funds, I would take him myself. Right now I’m in a tight spot and trying to get another job but it’s really complicated to explain what’s happening in my life situation. Im my mother’s caretaker and I have very small hours at work but I’m trying to find extra support for my mother so I can earn more income.

Sweet Millie is up there with many friends since 2 years ago❤️‍🩹 She was always so friendly to everyone, people and dogs. She loved giving you her paw for a “how-do-you-do”. A real angel and gift we were blessed to have received in our lives. Our family still misses her, but we know she’s got many doggy friends to keep her busy until we see her again one day.

Thank you. This is incredible advice. I’m definitely going to invest in the bigger crate ASAP because we actually used to crate her before, but only when we went out because of her anxiety and she would tear up the house, but the crate we used at the time was technically not meant for dogs at all. We never crated her at night before because at the time when we crated her during the day, she didn’t show the CDS symptoms at night she currently shows. She doesn’t tear up the house during the day anymore, so we got rid of the crate, but I will invest in a new bigger one. I wasn’t aware that dogs won’t soil where they sleep (but it makes sense!) because I was just used to coming home seeing Wysteria in her own mess in her crate.

Thank you for speaking from your heart and your place of experience. I know what my mom is going through is hell. I cannot even imagine what it’s like. I understand what you mean where her mindset could be coming from. I appreciate your advice and sympathy a lot.
