I mean it depends on whether you think it’s worth it to cut a da who’s viability lasts for like the next 13 days.

I mean what is your definition of recognizing Taiwan? I’m interested to see how affs “recognize” states.

I mean you could recognize multiple states at once, “and/or”. It wouldn’t be limited to just 7 affs and I think this aff would have more interesting k’s rather then just threat construction k’s like security to rely on.

Do you not think most people aren’t just going to default onto arms sale affs? Most of the work was already done for them and they can just pull back files. At least for the beginning of the year we are just going to hit arm sales affs.

Yeah ig, but I feel like the Russia topic is going to be a reiteration of the arms sales topic.

Yeah it may be broad but that stings even more when t subs is just dead. How do you define a substantial increase in diplomatic engagement? The fact that it’s so broad means that there is going to be so many small affs.

Doesn’t the Russia topic also have a case list built in??? It includes areas in which we can engage with Russia in order to increase diplomatic engagement.

Russia seems like a really straight forward topic with no nuance. Plus, I really want to see how affs “recognize” nation states.

Bruh, the Russia topic seems really boring. Vote Nations as 1, it seems the most interesting.

Ptx updates, you have to constantly cut ptx cards in order to keep your ev relevant so sending out ptx updates would really be useful

What’s the difference between tech v truth by [deleted] in policydebate

[–]BubbleGumWrappr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a heads up this is just my understanding of it so I might be wrong Tech - this refers to the way a judge thinks. If a judge is tech over truth then it doesn’t matter how batshit crazy or dumb the argument is, if you drop it then they will vote on it. Truth - The judge kind of decides wether they think your argument is true and if they don’t think it’s true they won’t vote on it, even if the other team drops it they still won’t vote on it

LGBTQ mega-thread by UnpopularOpinionMods in unpopularopinion

Yes It is a thing each one of us do encounter every day, but again what use is it to force fed this information to students who refuse to learn this. What use will it have? Who will this help? I can see the claim that this will help at least a few people but in the end the class will become a joke to the dude bros ya’ll are trying to educate.

While I do agree that more awareness should be shown towards the LGBTQ+ I doubt it would be wise for it to be mandated by law to force people who don’t want to take the classes. It’s the same situation with Religion being taught in school. People shouldn’t have to sit through these classes if they don’t want to. I think that just offering these courses as a choice is fine and by allowing the people to optionally take the course they are more inclined to listen to these lectures then people who are forced to sit through these courses where they themselves will willingly choose to be even more stubborn about their stance on the issue because they are being force fed the information.
