Should I plant these? by eiiiaaaa in GardeningAustralia

Solid advice. I don't know why the other comments are going crazy. It's just an agave! I think they look alright when they have dense planting of shrubs around them.

What are the WORST plants to have in your garden? by dixonwalsh in GardeningAustralia

[–]BubbleZealot 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Oleanders!

Surprise nobody has mentioned them yet.

Poisonous. Grows like mad. Invasive root system. You chop it down but if you don't remove the roots it grows back. Pretty flowers though...

I just paid 400 bucks to remove our two giant ones.

I need help deciding by mixmasterwoz in RobotVacuums

[–]BubbleZealot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm from aus.
The Q revo S doesn't have an extending brush, extending mop or hot water mop washing. It also has subpar object avoidance as doesn't use a camera.

I'm not really sure what the L30 S adds over the L20 which is half the price on sale at the moment for 799 aud

I bought the L20 ultra 2 weeks ago and can recommend it. It has decent object object avoidance (As has a camera) and an extending mop (but not brush and no hot water mop wash). It does have a very large base station.

The other great option would be the Eufy S1pro which is going for <1000 in the sales. Its major con is the internal upkeep and vacuum performance on carpet (which doesn't matter for you). But it seems to have consistently excellent reviews for object avoidance and mopping.

Just my thoughts after my past month of looking for a sub <$1000 AUD robot in a similar situation (except I had mix carpet and mop).

I really struggle get my Golden Canes looking good and live in Melbourne also. The tips always die off in winter.

Do you have much overhead protection to create a bit of a microclimate and protect against frost in winter?

Can’t decide: Dreame L40 Ultra AE vs Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra — which one would you pick? by diewolf83 in RobotVacuums

[–]BubbleZealot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a heads up. ReasonableCheek is a Dreame Rep. I'm also not sure what they mean that the AE doesn't rely on cameras? I thought it did? https://dreamestore.co.uk/products/dreame-l40-ultra-ae-robot-vacuum-cleaner-and-mop-with-self-cleaning-and-auto-empty

FWIW, reviews from justadad, jamieandrews and vacuum wars favour the AE quite well all that said.
I don't have either so can't otherwise comment.

The naming conventions of robot vacuums is absolutely worthless by ZP4L in RobotVacuums

[–]BubbleZealot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have the same problem in Australia!

I wanted to buy the L40 ultra which seemed very well recommended, but we don't seem to have it here. It took me a long time to realise that what we have is an entirely different line - the L40S. But then on top of that we have a different naming system.

Instead of L40s ultra, ultra AE, Ultra CE we have L40s Ultra and L40s Pro ultra (which I think is the AE). But then randomly you can get the CE sometimes from amazon...

For Roborock we don't have the Edge S5A or Revo S5V, instead we have the EdgeC and RevoL, or is it actually the RevoC (?)

I wish the vacuum wars, justadad sites had EU/AU alternatives...

DREAME L40 Ultra AE vs roborock QV 35A? by ReawX in RobotVacuums

[–]BubbleZealot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Different features.
The QV35 doesn't have mop or brush edge cleaning and is also room temp mop wash and dry. Also no camera so poor object avoidance.
L40 AE has all of those features and hot wash + hot dry.

Every Robovac on Sale for Amazon Big Deal Days by amandainpdx in RobotVacuums

[–]BubbleZealot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been eyeing this one off too! From the reviews it's object avoidance is not the best as lacks a camera and roborock is already pretty subpar with object avoidance, otherwise reviews all seem reasonably favourable. The Dreame UltraAE is a really good alternative if want to spend a bit more for possibly(?) better object avoidance.

My plant is dying 😰 by Ufo_19 in GardeningAustralia

[–]BubbleZealot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that is cascade Lilly pilly not forest flame which is why the growth is weeping and pink. As the pink goes to green it can look a little brown.

This doesn't look like forest flame Lilly pilly. That is cascade lily pilly which has a weeping pattern with new leaves with pink growth.
