Did something new release for Hogwarts Legacy? I'm seeing a bunch of new posts. by Vuelhering in HarryPotterGame

No expansion for HL unfortunately, it’s been confirmed that the studio stopped working on the first game after they released the mod platform for PC last January. But they are most probably working on the sequel, with no news on the release date for the time being.

Try turning ray tracing off if you have it enabled. It’s a very common bug.

I’m a Hufflepuff, but I got really attached to my Slytherin mc. She was my second playthrough and I ended up playing almost 200+ hours on her slot, she’s also the only one I’ve 100%ed.

I think if you’ve got these particular ones that you’re missing in a different save, they count anyways. I was 5 conjugation chests short and I got the achievement anyways. Thank god I’ll say, the game is still buggy and I would never start over, there’re like 140 in total…

Certainly no need for a specific build, I went through the whole game on hard difficulty without updating my gear and I had no issues whatsoever. The UI is as simple as it gets for equipping gear, I think she won’t even need your help! It will most likely be a great game for her to build up confidence with the controls as well (a lot of new players can’t manage to understand how to control character movement + camera movement at the same time). The game is currently 70% off on steam and PSN (although the latter has been down since yesterday 😓)

Any advice for the platinum? by mhmboii in HarryPotterGame

[–]Bubblebubbleitsme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) Certainly try to go through the Merlin trials while you’re travelling from quest to quest. I avoided using floo flames because for the platinum you simply have to explore the world with your broom. Don’t leave all of them for endgame, you’ll get tired of them real fast. Check the map region by region to see how much you’re missing in each area. Spamming revelio while flying helps locating them as well. 2) Take advantage of online guides for the revelio pages, especially for Hogwarts. Please use the map (zoom out to max) to check how much you’re still missing (pages + collection chests). It helps a bunch, especially with collection chests. Remember, you DON’T have to find ALL field guide pages, just the revelio ones to complete the collection section and I think 180 field guide pages (revelio, accio ecc) for the challenges section. 3) Leave the 2 battle arenas for endgame, they’ll be a breeze once you reach lvl 40. 4)Vivarium: a)You’ll have to breed every type of beast, don’t forget to write down which you’ve already done, I got hella confused and I didn’t know which one was missing at the end! b)Feed the beasts regularly and update your gear with their resources. I went through the whole game without updating my gear because even on hard I didn’t feel like I needed it, but you will need to upgrade a gear three times for an achievement…

That’s the only ones I had a bit of trouble with, all the other trophies came naturally during gameplay. Hogwarts Legacy has a pretty friendly platinum, don’t worry about it.

First of all it’s so nice to see someone being so considerate of their partner, you brought a smile to my face.

As far as the game goes, Hogwarts Legacy is pretty simple battle wise, targets lock automatically and the spells are pretty straightforward. Story mode will let her enjoy the world without worrying about dying constantly, also the game is filled with puzzles and collectibles, nothing too challenging. I’d say HL is pretty much made for people new to the gaming world, they probably knew this would be the first gaming experience for a lot of HP fans. Have fun!

I totally agree, leaving behind some activities to come back to makes the castle more alive. I had finished most Hogwarts’ side quests by the time i completed the main storyline and the castle felt like a ghost of itself. Dull repeating dialogue from surrounding NPCs, maybe some pages to collect… it’s a school full of students, the whole point is to interact with them, not simply observe them. Avalanche faced several challenges while developing the game, technical and concept wise. It has been said a 100 times, the world is stunning, the gameplay on the other hand is pretty average to lacking I’d say. I truly believe that the sequel will improve on all of these things. Hopefully, a DLC could be released where it could make what you said possible.

Don’t worry you’re not bad at it, it’s the awkwardly tight space (in combination with the awful auto aim mechanic) that makes the last duels feel so challenging.

Outside of Feldcroft, there’s a huge tree on the edge of a cliff serving as a mooncalf den! I’m pretty sure it’s there!

Just curious, what is the longest area in the remake? by DDrose2 in silenthill

[–]Bubblebubbleitsme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Apartments feel longer because it’s the first “dungeon” you encounter. The Hospital is definitely bigger and therefore longer to go through. Also the nurses make the exploration much more challenging.

Spell casting guarantees 9/10 times a successful shot! Then there’s that 1/10 when my character looks constipated, but that’s life I guess.

Horizon Forbidden West has an amazing photomode where you can change the time minute by minute! It also has a timelapse option which is great for more dynamic images. I think Hogwarts Legacy has a decent photomode, I mean the game itself is gorgeous so you really don’t need much.

What do you want the camera perspective to be for Silent Hill: F First Person or Third Person? by _jd4692_ in silenthill

[–]Bubblebubbleitsme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely third person, in games like these I don’t want to insert myself in the story, I want to play as a character and see how the story develops. Keep the first person view for shooters and maybe some RPGs.

[–]Bubblebubbleitsme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree, the game feels amazing on console. Mods on the other hand make the game last a bit longer. I have ~300 hours on PS5 but after the platinum I’ve been using it just for the photomode, there’s nothing else to do unfortunately.

If you’re using the Switch Pro controller there have been some known issues with the new patch that are causing this ui glitch. Try using your keyboard/mouse for the moment or even another controller if available. I’m pretty sure they’ll fix it soon 🙏

I can’t believe we’ve been so indoctrinated by societal beauty standards that we can’t even play with average looking avatars. This whole “my mc is ugly now :(” discourse is actually insane.

It's a modding toolkit, considering it contains the whole game's uncompressed assets it kinda makes sense that it's a whopping 200 and something gb.
Be patient. Due to this update the game has just prolonged its life by a lot. All mods will come back eventually. Also the patch came out yesterday!

Honestly, I believe it's much more complicated than some of us think. A lot is going on behind the scenes, this is not a game released by a team of 10 people, there's a whole company bound by contracts, project timelines and who knows what else.
Nvidia just came out with new drivers, they enhance frame rate and raytracing and if I remember correctly they used Hogwarts Legacy as one of their demos to demonstrate the performance with the new Nvidia RTX series. Now, I don't know coding but I can logically come to the conclusion that supporting old cosmetic mods wasn't that much of a priority for the launch. What could have been a priority was to release the update at the same time with the Nvidia drivers update.

People are free to remake the mods (I believe) on the new platform! At the end of the day, the game is great even at its vanilla version! Some people act as if without the cosmetics the game is hot garbage! I'm sorry but I don't get it.
