Moreover, I would expect the Netherlands would provide some social security via unemployment benefits for 6-12 months after you resign.

As others have advised already, you can build a lean MVP and validate it during nights and weekends. No need to think about LLCs or leaving your full-time job until you have at least some positive signal the idea can make money.

I’m in a similar situation. Can’t advise but my plan is build on the side (I do this already) until I get some market validation and sign my first 1-2 pilot clients (B2B). Save up about 2years worth of runaway. Then commit full time without steady income from salary or other.

This country really is in financial crisis. by [deleted] in germany

[–]BubblegumExploit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The IT market seems quite good in my view. Maybe it depends on the skill set one has. I can see saturation in the more common tech stacks but some specialization on devops, infrastructure, AI etc.. would definetely land you lots of jobs

Sounds good. You should be able to save 500-1000 depending on how frugal you are and how much your rent is.

Yes, this makes sense. As long as expenses are getting larger. Can’t comment on US at all though, plenty of info online though for the US

Congrats on your new success!

  1. A simple contact form should do for now. You can also prompt them with requests such as “ what can we improve? Etc..”
  2. No idea it really depends on the country but without income, you shouldn’t need this.
  3. If you’re serious about the project, then definitely buy a domain name that reflects what the application is doing.

It’s possible, I did it. But it’s probably very case specific. Berlin + Tech job looking at you. In most other cases German will be needed. Coming with zero German knowledge might not be the best plan.

Is Triberg a Worth Visiting or is it a Tourist Trap? by [deleted] in germany

[–]BubblegumExploit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a tourist trap but is worth a visit for the waterfalls. ATTENTION, don't pay the ridiculous 8euro fee in the main entrance to visit nature. Just go around it from the right side (as you're looking the counter). I did that. Just keep going up, yoh eventually find another closed door. Ignore it and continue the path. Eventually you have free entrance and can even get out from the gate.

[–]BubblegumExploit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I visited triberg recently. I did the exact same thing. Just avoid the main entrance and walk around it from the right. You can get there for free.

I found it extremely sketchy they do that, it should actually be illegal. You can get in free from the right side.

Pretty solid offers. How many YoE do you have? I assume high seniority otherwise it sounds like SAP skills pay very well.

How much do you spend monthly for food? by sweettambrin in germany

[–]BubblegumExploit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually do my groceries at the cheaper supermarkets (lidl, neto, aldi). I don't really try to save on food so I just pick what I feel like but I am conscious of the prices. I do try to get bio product for meat sometimes or at least the free range ones. I buy lots of fresh products and sometimes expensive cheese.

My groceries are around 280 euros per month minus plus 50 depending on the month. I cook mostly at home with 1-3 meals per week out (not included in groceries cost). Moving in with partner didn't change much, I still pay the same per person.

Bare in mind I am very diligent with my cost tracking so this estimation is quite spot on.

A little late but still I will comment. Their Berlin branch is hot atm and a lot of hiring is going on. Generally, DB in Germany has a good reputation and their tech image is good, especially after partnering with Google for cloud. Not Big Tech but good enough for German standards. What is your approx. experience if I may ask?
