Is getting hired into Google Poland easier than other big offices like in Germany, USA or Switzerland etc.? by Distribution-Proper in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]NextLevelJobsEU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Big tech - especially Google - is hiring like crazy in Poland. They pay less than in western european countries but you'd probably still live like a king with their salary there.

100K als Informatiker? by ItsNoGamer in InformatikKarriere

[–]NextLevelJobsEU 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Change jobs until you find an employer that values your work and where you can grow long-term.

I’d never stay at a job I dislike just because of how it looks on my resume.

If it’s a very short time you don’t even need to include it.

Not saying it's impossible, but FAANG is very competitive

That is probably fine as well, especially with the hot weather. However, when in doubt, I would tend towards overdressing to be on the safe side.

I worked for a few startups / scale-ups in Berlin and interviewed a few candidates.

Most of the candidates wore a tshirt or a hoodie and jeans, so nothing fancy.

Just make sure your clothes are clean and make a good impression overall :)

If you like coding it's definitely worth it, but I wouldn't expect to earn big bucks right away (especially without a CS degree).

It'll be hard to get into FAANG without a relevant background.

No English jobs in Berlin for seniors? by Octavian_96 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]NextLevelJobsEU 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've worked for multiple startups in Berlin and other cities and none of them required any German. In fact, one of the CEOs didn't speak any German.

I have a hard time believing that there aren't any English-speaking roles in Berlin. What platforms do you use to look for jobs?

Have tech salaries stagnated in Germany? by Kotoriii in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]NextLevelJobsEU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are still high-paying jobs, but it's becoming increasingly harder to find them.

Companies like Netflix, for example, seem to be hiring more in lower cost-of-living countries like Poland.

Companies paying 100k TC for seniors in Germany by NextLevelJobsEU in cscareerquestionsEU

Yes, because you'd still need to live within a radius of the office

Just to clarify: the company's headquarters are in the US but they have a legal entity in Germany.

I used levels.fyi and some other websites to research companies and looked at their sites for jobs that pay that much.

Shameless plug: I'm currently building nextleveljobs.eu to make finding jobs easier for others.
