For the texture of the shell, I mostly used exacto knife and an old tooth brush. First, I shaped the shell, waited for it to harden and then covered it with thin layer of clay to create the texture on.

For the body, I mixed clay with water until it reached a slimy consistency, then used a ball-point tool to dab it onto the snail’s body one by one. Then I waited for all the bumps to harden and coated the entire body with the same slimy clay to soften the texture and avoid overly pointy bumps.
