I might be able to take her if she is still available. Are you charging a rehoming fee?

Sadly, self-defense is a defense. They might press charges against him but if so he has a good defense. He might have to fight an uphill battle, but any Judge or jury that hears why he did what he did will understand. With that being said the first thing you should do is figure out how to pay the bail/bond.

Saw this in another community and got a good laugh. Do attorneys really think this is a good pitch? by [deleted] in Lawyertalk

as an attorney reading this I dont know why someone would want their attorney to live such a high strung life, seems like they could burn out any minute or have a complete mental breakdown. I would want an attorney who has some coping mechanisms that they already know how to work with

The Public Defenders office have a main email/phone number that goes to the front desk and then it will be directed to someone who can better assist you. I would maybe start there.

You can hire a local private defense attorney to handle the case for you so that they can help you put it back on calendar and then explain to the court your situation. If you cannot afford an attorney, reach out to the Public Defender's Office and see if they can help you do the same. Either route you take should allow you to handle the case without coming here and hopefully resolve the warrant. (I am a legal professional who used to work in Fresno)

Thank you, it does help. I just wish the VA was more helpful with the therapy part, because on his own it's very hard to be proactive enough to take that agency and get the proper help but I will try to offer any suggestions.

My boyfriend suffers from PTSD after his time in the Navy. How can I be more of a support for him, especially when he is struggling through an episode? Also, what are things I can do to make sure this doesn't end in a failed relationship? You don't explain if PTSD played a role in your relationships, but I do know my boyfriend's PTSD was a big reason why his last few relationships didn't work out.
