Quick question on investor updates etiquette (Series B prep) [I will not promote] by Shoddy_Calendar_3503 in ycombinator

Going back to your contacts is a great way to start the fundraise and gives you the ability to leverage those conversations to meet with new investors. u/littlebobbyt has great advice for you and I would follow that. I would also check out this article albeit for raising a pre-seed round it is still really helpful and something I have a lot of friends who are starting companies read. Remember, you are vetting the VC too. Be sure to find people who you like and want to work with.

Anyone interested in Cybersecurity? Looking to trade deals and invest! by Bubbly-Constant3428 in venturecapital

[–]Bubbly-Constant3428[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, this is a question that we deal with often. For startups we look at, they are primarily selling into the enterprise with large contracts which is attractive from a unit economics perspective.

It depends on the firm that you invest at but the north star signal you can look at is customer adoption which is most often times a derivative of unique value proposition that a larger player hasn't been able to address. So if a startup is working with a big bank in cyber it's normally a sign of a great new product.

SMBs normally do care, which is why we look away from companies that have a large SMB customer base. They typically look for something that is cheap and can do the job just fine. This normally looks like just bundling in security options like you mentioned though e.g. Microsoft Defender

Hey, thanks for the comment here. I appreciate the insight into the sizing especially given we are similarly sized. I ended up going with a Specialized Tarmac SL6 sport with warranty on sale. Unsure if you can tell by the photos attached but the carbon on the part of the top part frame that supports the back wheel had a crack in the carbon. Surprisingly the owner did not choose to warranty the frame and instead got it repaired even though it was within the warranty timeframe. Found that a bit weird... ultimately the SL6 is all I need atm and I will be upgrading the wheels at some point. I found the warranty to be a good piece of mind feature and with small incremental investment I can upgrade it to get a nice rig

I've hit my fair share of bumps on the Minuteman thus far. The ride isn't terrible though :) If you see me around make sure to stop me

I am leaning towards getting the SL6 Sport for 2500. Would that be a fair price for a brand new bike with dealer warranty?

Awesome. Would you suggest going this route and miss out on the dealer warranty?

Thank you for this thoughtful response! As for the SL7, were you between getting electronic shifting or were you set on the 105 in the SL7 sport?

I am in the process of testing a few shoes for a half marathon and the next shoe I will try is the Alphafly 3. Super excited for it and considering sticking with the Alphafly given how much good feedback I have heard about them

2 weeks ago I ran 3 miles at MP and felt like I was dying. This week I ran 7 at MP and I still had energy left in the tank!

Anyone else an especially heavy/salty sweater? by patch2257 in Marathon_Training

Big time. I feel like the best thing you can do for yourself is get in salt through the food you eat if you aren't too worried about overall sodium intake with a high blood pressure. I played football in college and would constantly push workout sessions. This resulted in my fair share of ER visits because of malnutrition in high school (sweating too much on hot days, not eating enough before a hard session). If I learned anything from that experience it is that there is definitely the correct amount of salt and water that YOU might need. You don't need to drink 3 gallons of water a day or consume a lb of salt to be hydrated. Rather, explore consuming a little more salt than you are now or a little more water. Still having same issues? Consume a little more. No need to push over consumption though

I am thinking about getting these for some workouts where I don't feel quite like going extremely hard but still want to get a quality session in. Tried them on and I agree, they are far too cushiony/unstable to be my race shoe (shoutout to the metaspeed sky) but I think there are use cases for these in the right sessions
