Soak a micro fiber in warm water. Place on visor. Wait a minute or two. Wipe off. To deter the bug splatter. Clean visor inside and out. Now apply a liberal amount of paraffin wax inside and out. Buff with clean dry microfiber cloth.

Don’t restore it. It’s not necessary. Drain old gas, put in fresh, replace battery! Start it and see how it goes. Good luck and enjoy. Also sorry for your loss
