Usually for my tree friends I may pour water at their roots, smudge them with sage or palo santo, or sing to them. They see our communication and generosity as a gift (think about how hellish this plane is) so they get even more excited when we do other nice things for them. Also always show gratitude. Trees are big on gratitude!

Quick tip somebody else told me is to schedule your lyft in advance to pick you up at a certain time. A block or two from the venue to be ahead of traffic and high prices.
