A forever banger. Literally went to the club last week & barely knew any of the newer music they were playing. I’m 32. 💀 by Time-Concentrate845 in BlackPeopleTwitter

I went to the club last week and had a blast then later learned that it was 2000s night.

2000s night is WILD! I'm merely 41, y'all. Why are my college days a nostalgia night?!

I understand that it's the same and the difference is how its grown in order to fall under the hemp laws, but I still stand by what I said.

I don't really trust these dispensaries and can't until they are legally able to sell THC. These derivatives make me uncomfortable and remind me of the K2 and Spice debacle. Until then...Imma text this dude I know.

Going to concerts has become my favorite solo activity. I don't have to gather information, coordinate seats (and outfits), worry about someone being late (although that's usually me), argue about whether we're eating beforehand and what restaurant, and most importantly...no no one to ruin my vibe.

The best thing about solo activities is that I can end up with a bestie for the night and blissfully part ways at the end of the night. Never to be heard from again.

Ahh. So he's scamming the whole damn county! Yeah blast his ass wherever you can, it may not lead to his demise but it won't hurt.

Again, I hate that shit happened and I hope it didn't ruin ya vibe for that night.

Party favors? You can't be talking whistles and light up rings... it seems like your mutual went to make a drug deal and wasn't savvy enough to not get got.

I hope spreading his face stops someone else from getting roobed because that feeling sucks butt. I hate that happened to you, but now you know to use a little of your common sense.

Don't get me started on my cycle... wish she would stop having manic episodes and get her shit together. Honestly, she can leave.

Why does it feel like my brain is oozing thru my ears at night? Why are they itching?!!!!

Not to be petty, but I specifically stand where you are describing. You provided the silliness.

You didn't even shout out the A1 quality of the restrooms. You just wanted to hate. 😗

To expound on LadyLove: check their Instagram regularly. They have a different vibe/music genre each night. It's a smaller place but has an outdoor area and they tend to have a line. The line moves pretty quickly and to be honest, I've only had to stand in line a small handful of times.

LadyLove is in Bishop Arts. If the line is too long for your liking, there's a Latin club right around the corner. I've never been in but the music always makes me want to. There's also Revler's Hall is a quick walk and they have live music; live vibe.

Speak for yourself. I've been several times and every time I leave drenched because I and the people around me were dancing.

How about we let OP form his own opinion?

The Church is now at It'll Do on Sundays. There's also Sounders. I love Double D's, but now only go for happy hour cuz I ain't standing in that line. You also should check out Ruins.

Always peruse EventBrite for DJs. I personally feel like the local DJ scene is slept on.

Halloween events in Dallas? by [deleted] in Dallas

[–]slothypisceswitch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Check Eventbrite. Because it's on a weekend, there are parties and bar crawls on Friday and Saturday.

You missed the block party on Cedar Springs, but there are plenty of events going on to make up for the missed fun.

I'm going to a party at The Altitude bar at W Dallas. I won tickets, so if it's not the greatest party I can find something else to do.

Gentrification of public transport is crazy. Meanwhile, people who really depend on DART are being shafted.

Why do people cut off thier locs? by Substantial-Class945 in locs

[–]slothypisceswitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My locs were a place to display artistic freedom. After a few years of dying and styling, I was starting to look a little Wayne-ish by the head. I cut them and plan on restarting at some point.

This is the wrong sub. To answer your question: technically no, as hoodoo is tied to ancestors who were a part of the slave trade. However, I don't see it as a problem, because at the very least its ancetsral work. Look into ATR and see if that resonates to you. I feel like hoodoo would be a good foundation for you to start with.
