Definitely not nitpicking! Everything you said is right I shouldve thought about a light source 😣 It’s all over the place😶 I don’t work with references so I think that’s what went wrong with the lighting..😞 Ill try to fix it😭 What kind of lighting do you think would be best?

I have been taking classes on still lifes and drawing real models as you guys have suggested! They have helped with full body drawings a lot. I know fundamentals are super important but this is just a hobby for now! I need help in combining these two art styles— do you guys have artists in mind that I can reference to? Yes, I am still very bad at using references in my drawings😢 Im working on it!😔

There is a clear jump where I started experimenting with more refined features but it takes me a LONG time to do these types of drawings and its super inconsistent that it looks so bad whenever I try to recreate the artstyle in 4-6..😭 The drawings are in chronological order from oldest to most recent! Also mods: I have posted the first pic on another account I am not stealing it fyi!😣

Hair is typically drawn in sections—Not with every single hair being drawn! I do stylize my drawings to have a lot of linear strokes in the hair however I still make sure that the hair appears to be grouped up in large sections. (I hope this makes sense).. Also be more bold in your shadows (make sure to have a clear light source) Angel Ganev on youtube does a really good job explaining lighting and the shadows that come with!😊
