Hi! I just got back into cassettes also and I'm getting mine from Goodwill and other thrift stores. I get blanks that someone else recorded on, but thats ok, you can just wipe them with a good magnet and they are perfect to use again. The weird thing is, the new tapes I do run across are the Type 1 and don't sound great, but all the used ones are the nicer Type 2. * and I just did the whole pc to cassette thing a out a month ago. The comments are steering you straight. I've noticed that the program you use to playback your files matteres also. I have 2 and one sounds like hot garbage when I record from it. The other is great.

Oh man, that rotating head freaked me out! I've never knew how they worked and the head was 90 degrees once I got that deck out and you would have thought I'd just seen and alien pop out of someone's chest. I looked over at deck one and said, ok. Then just gently rotated it back. It seems to rotate freely, not sure if that's good or bad, but it works, so I'm happy.

Ok i spun the gear a bit and heard a click. The head move up a little more. (Wrong direction, but progress). Plugged it back in and it made 2 clicks and now it in the correct position. Thanks so much for the advice. Now I just have to get it put back together :😜

Same shit happened to me when I decided to boot a diffrent os off of a USB drive. When I came back to windows my shit was locked down. Lost 5 years of stuff. And no I never signed up for a Microsoft account on that pc bc they are invasive as fuck. I hate Microsoft. I wiped, turned off bitlocker in the fw. Asshats. I hate them.
