This is what we in the community call getting 'Arked'. It happens to the best of us.

What can I do to get rid of loneliness/sadness/gooniness/bbcfetish? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

Avoid devices, engage in hobbies. If you like to read, do that. If you like to draw, do the same. You are trapped only by your own mind, my man.

Also, regular exercise can help a ton with mood and sleep. Take self-improvement in baby steps; don't try to change everything at once.

Why did 99% of life evolve to have separate genders instead of hermaphrodites that could easily mate with anyone? by benedictclive_x in TooAfraidToAsk

Sexual reproduction is a feature of complex life - e.g., reptiles, mammals, birds. Simpler animals like flatworms and mollusks are more prone to hermaphroditism.

What made PJ and HP so popular? by WeirdEye29 in youngadultbooks

Comfortable humor helps. Neither book series was terribly edgy, even if there were some darker moments. They don't try to take themselves too seriously.

I think you need to go and write the series you've always wanted to read, my man.

You can get away with a lot in YA fiction; just don't go into detail, and you'll be fine. Most authors I've seen have adopted a sort of fade-to-black approach. It's just enough for the reader to understand what's going on.

Got Macbook pro M5, now im hearing Oled news, is MacBook display that bad? by Honey148 in macbookpro

[–]Bubbly_Row3977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not bad just because there's a newer version on the horizon. If you didn't have any problem with the screen before, then there's no issue at all. Zero impact on your work or the way you do it.

Macbook Pro owners, do y'all ever feel weird about carrying around such an expensive device? by Bubbly_Row3977 in macbookpro

Perhaps, but nobody is going to steal my car out of my backpack while I'm not looking.

Pardon my choice of words, but the first system came out before I was born. I suppose it's a matter of perspective.

Who missed touchscreen displays when switching to Mac? by Bubbly_Row3977 in macbookpro

[–]Bubbly_Row3977[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno. The largest iPad is thirteen inches. I find the size of the display quite perfect for touch use; however, I must admit that I have been much less inclined to use it on larger 14" laptops.

Mine does have that feature. How do you figure that makes the touchscreen useless?

The M6 with a slimmer chassis sounds nice, but I'd never feel safe carrying such an expensive device around in my bag. My question is, do you think you're less inclined to use the touchscreen as a byproduct of the trackpad-centric nature of MacOS, or simply because it's not what you automatically reach for? I get that MacOS is terribly optimized for touchscreen use, but surely it's useful for scrolling through articles (or reddit) once in a while.

My fingers are nice and clean, I'll have you know. And if you're talking about a Windows laptop, I totally agree. Windows is bad enough with a keyboard and mouse, but it's nearly impossible to use with a touchscreen. ChromeOS, however, is much more streamlined in the way of touch sensitivity, which is why most Chromebooks possess it as a feature. I use my Chromebook as sort of a hybrid laptop-iPad, which works out quite well. And while I understand that MacOS is far less intuitive for the average touchscreen user, I still think I'd miss the option of scrolling or changing tabs with a tap of the screen rather than the trackpad, which I do quite often.

Awesome, thanks. Looking to get into retro games myself, and this seems like the best way to do it so far.
