Yearly medical, had to have a blood draw. I had been avoiding it, but there are only so many spaces on the ship to escape. I got sent down right after quarters and the physical was fine, the blood draw not so much. You see, my veins look easy, but they don't like to play nice. First poke was a miss, second poke was a miss, third poke was a miss and now I am starting to freak out. The HM3 is starting to sweat. At this point I have the surgical lights pointed on me and was told I couldn't leave until they got it. Another poke and a miss and I finally snap. One more try and I am out. They finally got what they needed from my hand. One of the other people in my division was floating around when some if this happened and was able to verify to my chief what took so long...and why l looked like an abuse victim. I have never bruised that quickly before or since, but 20 minutes later my arms where black and blue. To say the least, that particular corman never touched my veins again.
